    small drives in toughbooks

    can anybody tell me what they've seen for

    1.8" drives 50pin IDE
    are they all 3.3v? or are some 5v and some 3.3v?

    2.5" drives , all 44pin IDE?
    are they all 5V?

    Virtually all the Toughbooks most of us own are 2.5" 5v drives, IDE/PATA through CF-29 & CF-18, SATA on the later models. The only Toughbook I am aware of that uses 1.8" drives is the CF-07 "Brick". You have to be careful, most of the 1.8" drives you will find use a ZIF connector and fit iPods and the like. They will not work in the CF-07. Find Azrial here and use his search link, it works great on the forum. Welcome to the nut house!
