I've been trying to use One Note and paint on my CF-C1 to take notes using the stylus pen. I can use my finger which works but the stylus will only move things around but not actually draw or write anything. I've gone into the settings in Win 8 and tried everything that looked related but can't figure it out. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I asume you do have a digitizer build in, but did you ever hold a magnet close to your stylus tip? I did so and it was game over for the stylus.

Edit: It would track, but wouldn't click or draw any more.

When I click the pen it puts a small circle on the screen so I'm pretty sure the digitizer is working. I must be over-looking something simple.

then you certainly do have a digitizer, but it sounds awfully familiar with me wrecking my stylus.
You don't have a second laying around perhaps?

I do have access to another C1 running win 7and it does the same exact thing. I would think the digitizer pen is ok because it controls the pointer on the screen. My device manager shows all hardware installed properly. There must be some setting or driver unique to Panasonic I'm missing.

Does the other C1 has his own digitizer and does it do the same with that digitizer, or are you using one and the same digitizer?

Buying another digitizer might be a good idea if you use them a lot. But I found them really expensive at €54 incl. shipping at my local dealer. Looking around at the internet, I found a good deal buying 4 of them for €25 each

    Maybe a factory restore disk?

I think that might be a option. I'd love to know what the big secret is, the factory restore disk may have the answer.

I just ordered two new stylus pens from Super Warehouse for $6.00 each. Even if that's not the problem, I'll have spare stylus pens.

My computer is CF-C1BDNAG1M and I don't believe it's a digitizer screen. The stylus pen I ordered is CF-VNP017U which is listed as the correct stylus for my model. The other computer I have access to is CF-C1BDHAZ1M which has a digitizer. Both models react the same way to the same stylus.

Not sure about the multi-touch panels, but to date Panasonic's digitizer panels have used Wacom "Penabled" technology and you can usually find the pens cheaply if you dig around a bit. Walmart has one on their website for $29 but you can usually find them cheaper. The Motion tablets use Penabled, you might start there.

Thanks for all the info. I also just ordered a win 7 restore disc from Panasonic hoping that might help a few other missing functions on my CF-C1. Besides the digital ink not working, two of the tablet buttons don't work and it doesn't scroll when I move my finger around the outside of the touchpad. I have gone through every setting on the Panasonic dashboard and windows control panel. The problem with the restore disc is they don't offer a win 8 disc so I will reformat to 7 then upgrade to 8 and cross my fingers.

Ok, so after going through a system restore with Panasonics $35 disk the digitizer pen still wouldn't draw but I did get all other functions back that weren't working: screen rotation, scrolling using touchpad, ect... I then ordered the $15 Toshiba digitizer pen and it worked perfectly. The only problem I have with the Toshiba pen - it's 1/3 the size of the Panasonic and won't fit in the storage slot. Guess I will break down and spend the $35 for the Panasonic digitizer.

They must of changed the pen on the C1 or that is a different pen from the others I have gotten. The ones I have gotten before are the exact same ones the CF-18/19 have.

Take a look at "Toshiba Stylus Pen" on eBay. Based on a Panasonic advertising picture your C1 takes a much larger pen than the rugged models. I assume it docks in a hole on the side of the computer base.
