recently my touchscreen has been off slightly, about a half inch, Ive had to recalibrate it every day, I finally got annoyed and plugged in a usb mouse and used it for the last couple weeks. then tonight I got tired of the 20 or so icons across the bottom telling me what junk is running in the background so I turned off everything in start up that wasn't in the "windows" file in the system configuration.

    runs ALOT faster now, BUT.

I went into "control panel" to try and recalibrate my touchscreen again, and its gone, or Im tired and forgot where the heak to go. Its not in "mouse" and there is an ominous hole where an icon used to be. I swear it had its own icon in "control panel"

did I wipe it out in startup? or did running the usb mouse for a week or two booger it up?

How do I fix it? do I need to reload the driver?

    yes, which model?

in any case, turning off items at startup shouldn't effect the calibration tool, except for the system tray icon
You may also access the caibration utility through control panel/mouse/touchscreen

Did you read the FAQ? I heard no mention of a toothpick, so I figured I'd ask.

Rob, be glad you aren't selling car parts. They hate me in Autozone they have to look up lots of cars. It's a 1952 with a 1954 engine, with a 1969 transmission with a 1974 suspension with upgraded brakes, etc. They really flipped when I went up there with my 1991 S-10, with the 1986 ford roller cam 302. Most guys in town are die hard Chevy, I loved the look on there face.

If I get that 1954 ford pu cab like I want it's going to have a custom tube frame under it, Jaguar XJ12L IFS and IRS and probably a caddy 500 under the hood. Then I get to see the confusion really start around here, lol.

If you have a factory image, the calwin file should be under, c:\util\drivers\(and depending on model, either\mouse OR \tscreen)

Naaahhh... I still have on the old homestead my truck I inherited from grand-dad; a 79 F-150. When the original 302 died I decided I wanted a big-block; had a 428 FE block all lined up, but the flywheel, PP, bell & toploader were gonna cost me about another $700 more than the C6 still on the motor. After some deliberating, I decided that if I was going to put up with an automatic due to budgetary constraints, I might as well just use the '71 CADD 500 & TH400 I had under the bench as a spare for mom's Eldo; the actual conversion was easier than the FE would have been.

The motor had Alt, PS pump & starter (AC too, but the truck didn't) and I had the radiator to go with the motor; a hybrid Spicer U-Joint put the TH400 yoke on my driveshaft. Drill 2 holes to move the crossmember and BAM! 30 min after I started I had the back end connected, bolted down and the motor hanging where I needed it in the engine compartment.

Another 2 hours welding up some 5x7 angle iron to make bolt-down motor-mount brackets and I had the engine bolted in place. By comparison, I spent a whole day fabbing up a custom aluminum radiator shroud for that honkin' huge Cadd radiator. After that, it was just a matter of brazing up a custom PS hose, wiring up an HEI distributor and SI10 alt, and a few linkages & throttle cable. Easy-peasy. My buddy at the local exhaust shop bent me up some custom 2 1/2" pipes for $100 and a promise to word-of-mouth the job, and we were nearly there.

I went with a 600 Spreadbore Holley Dbl-Pumper to keep it low & lean on the stock manifold; a 13-layer spacer was necessary to clear the linkages & prevent float bowl boiling/vapor lock which the stock Cadd intake was infamous for. It was the best behaved Holley I ever owned.

It really WAS easier than the Ford big-block would have been; the Cadd motor is VERY compact in comparison. Only 3 inches wider and 125 lb heavier than a small-block; the FE would have had to ride about 5" higher, so time to cut holes and install a big hoodscoop. There were a dozen other things that would have been a big ar$eache with the FE too; but I've thankfully forgotten what they were. ;)

I built a couple T-buckets with the Jag rearend; the inboard disc brakes made star-spoke mags look SUHWEET and flow-through, especially with a buggy-sprung or brakeless tubular-a-frame Pinto front end and matching mags. I know; but I was young and dumb and full of.. beans. Looks were so much more important than stopping power then. :D

And then there was my Ram Air IV 69 Cutlass Ragtop...

sorry, been a rough couple days.

    its a cf-29 mk1

the touchscreen works, but when I touch it the cursor is about a half to 3/4 inch to the right or below where I touch, depending on what part of the screen.

In control panel, mouse, there is nothing for touchscreen, just touchpad and its working fine, I just prefer the screen with a stylus due to my fat, numb, gnarled mechanic fingers.

    Speaking of frankencars....
Im a fav at the parts store too,
1981 AMC Eagle, lifted 6 inches with 88 Cherokee D30 and D35 axles, 96 Ford Crown vic rear disc brakes, 96 Cherokee AX15 5 speed, 98 Grand Waggie NP242 transfer case, 01 4.0 head, 03 4.0 hedder, all fed by a motorcraft 2150 series 2V carb off a 302 in the junkyard. and a few other odds and ends I cant remember at the moment, its bad enough I keep a parts list with part numbers for multiple brands.

And I recently sold the 1970 Maverick with a 69 bronco 302 engine, 78 Zypher 4 speed RUG overdrive toploader, 77 Granada front disc brakes and rear axle with 5 lug wheels, 84 Cavalier sunroof, and a whole bunch of body and interior parts off roughly 10 different Mavericks. I was going for a Grabber clone, but the hood and spoiler are hard to find, so I just put the parts I liked from various years to make it look how I wanted.

You must not have the correct driver installed. The TS calibration is available either thru the touchscreen tab under mouse in the control panel or right click the touchpad icon in the taskbbar and select calibrate.

For XP, this should be the driver:

    Touchpad driver

If your CF-29 has a Windows 2000 COA you will get a "This machine does not support" message. In that case use WinRAR to extract the driver. Update the driver thru the device manager.

Did you use the windows utility or a third party utility to shut those services off?

Go to control pannel, system and where it give you your systems configuration it will show a Panasonic logo if it is a factory image.

It is XP, but I HAD the driver, and it worked fine till recently, and I was able to recalibrate it, but I had to do it almost daily. now I cant find the utilities for it, but it is still working, just off. where, and why did it go away? Did windows sense the USB mouse I was useing and do away with my touchscreen drivers? windows does seem to do things all by itself once and a while.

ADOR, I used windows "msconfig" to shut off things in startup, and in control panel/system I get a windows logo.

I have the panasonic discs, still sealed, but I dont want to wipe out whats on my harddrive. can I reinstall just drivers off the panasonic discs? or does it need a whole wipe and reinstall?

I installed that driver you posted, and I could go through and dig up the calibration, did it, fixed it, (for now) but Im worried about the fact it just seemed to disapear in the first place.

also it installed a folder labeled util2, does that mean mu util is hidden?

Did you use the mouse properties in the control panel? Is that available? If not the driver is not installed properly.

No, the drivers from the restore disc go in C:\util, the drivers downloaded from Panasonic extract to C:\util2.

If you have shut it down after putting it back on it and it works again. It must of been something related to what you shut off. But I still don't know why the files would of been missing though.

You may want to go back though msconfig and see what is running just so you will know if you have to mess with it again.

Your best bet is to backup your crap and use the OEM disks to reimage the hdd.

    IMHO.
