What OS are you using?
-
I dont have an os on it right now I just got the laptop and am trying to get it to work but it does not seam to want to find the floppy
-
Does the light ever come on?
-
I cant remember to tell you the truth and I am not near it
-
check the bios first.
-
could you please let me know what I am looking for I am not a expert at this
-
The laptop recognizes that the drive is there (the light comes on) but for some reason any of the drives (that I know work) won't work in it.
-
does it spin the disk at the proper times? it should do a quick test during the POST and then try to boot from the floppy before going to the HD.
have your tested your drive (and media) in another 28 or 27? are you 100% sure it is good? hopefully the MP cable or motherboard is not the problem.. -
I am usiing a floppy drive and the light comes on but other than that nothing some one said something about a bios problem? it worked in another unit. I dont want to have to junk this laptop I need it for my work but I am only so handy with fixing them
-
check the bios and make sure it is enabled. should be under the security heading
-
That's what I was going to say... Make sure it is enabled in the BIOS... Click F2 when it boots up and follow the tabs across the top until you find it.

or maybe your toughbook is getting lazy too, as what grav's tittle to one of a thread.
