Hello everyone!!!
If searched , scoured & dug for anything resebling my situation & found nothing so here it goes:
I'm trying to install XP pro on my new CF-30 w/ a 320GB SATA HDD. I have a Dell (NEC) ext. USB floppy drive & updated the BIOS to the latest (V1.00L20) I understand that theres an issue w/ XP not having the correct SATA drivers required for installation of the OS.
I load the disk, press F6 to load on the SATA driver, this happens w/o any issues. It's when It starts to install the OS from the cd that I get the following message:
"Insert the disk labeled: Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver into drive A: Press ENTER when ready"
I press enter & nothing happens. I called Panasonic tech support & they stated that I need a "Panasonic" USB floppy in order for this to work.
Does anyone have a work-around for this or at least some insight?
ANy info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Is the place to find the install info and the driver that has to be placed on the floppy
I use the panasonic usb floppy, and would think in this day and age that any usb floppy would work
Edit: Take note that is says have the floppy drive conected on the right usb port

been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I've followed that document verbatum like 3 times & still a no-go. Yea I would also think that in this day & age, We'd be able to use any USB floppy?!?!?! -
I use xp quite a lot, it’s more compatible for some of the applications that I run
I hate that because of the new hardware requirements that we are being forced to assimilate to vista
Some of the younger forum members have no problem doing this
It’s a different world that I live in lol
You now have 3 options
Install vista
Purchase the Panasonic drive, usually available on ebay, used
Purchase a recovery dvd for xp from Heartland Services if you live in the usa

I'm in the same boat!! I've got about 20 apps that are not Vista compatable. It came w/ Vista on a 250GB drive. I have a 320GB 7200rpm drive that I'm trying to load XP on.

Hi Guys
I know this thread is a month old now but just for reference you can use a program called nLite to integrate your SATA drivers directly onto the XP CD
nLite
Best of all it's free
