    Hello everyone!!!

If searched , scoured & dug for anything resebling my situation & found nothing so here it goes:

I'm trying to install XP pro on my new CF-30 w/ a 320GB SATA HDD. I have a Dell (NEC) ext. USB floppy drive & updated the BIOS to the latest (V1.00L20) I understand that theres an issue w/ XP not having the correct SATA drivers required for installation of the OS.

I load the disk, press F6 to load on the SATA driver, this happens w/o any issues. It's when It starts to install the OS from the cd that I get the following message:

"Insert the disk labeled: Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver into drive A: Press ENTER when ready"

I press enter & nothing happens. I called Panasonic tech support & they stated that I need a "Panasonic" USB floppy in order for this to work.

Does anyone have a work-around for this or at least some insight?

ANy info would be greatly appreciated!!!

been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I've followed that document verbatum like 3 times & still a no-go. Yea I would also think that in this day & age, We'd be able to use any USB floppy?!?!?!

I use xp quite a lot, it’s more compatible for some of the applications that I run
I hate that because of the new hardware requirements that we are being forced to assimilate to vista
Some of the younger forum members have no problem doing this
It’s a different world that I live in lol

    You now have 3 options
    Install vista
Purchase the Panasonic drive, usually available on ebay, used
Purchase a recovery dvd for xp from Heartland Services if you live in the usa

I'm in the same boat!! I've got about 20 apps that are not Vista compatable. It came w/ Vista on a 250GB drive. I have a 320GB 7200rpm drive that I'm trying to load XP on.

    Hi Guys

I know this thread is a month old now but just for reference you can use a program called nLite to integrate your SATA drivers directly onto the XP CD

    nLite

    Best of all it's free
