first off thanks to everyone who beared with me getting this cf-51 mk3LL up.after a little frustration getting lastest drivers tracked down.i still had an unknown device.finally found it was the trusted platform module.after reading up on it was wondering if anyone uses it or should i just disable it?looks like comunist countrys dont allow it,and apple quit running it after 3 years.on a side note, this comp it pretty quick and solid for an older laptop.we use a cf-18 and a cf-52 at work.so when i was given this one without hdd,i had to get it going.happy i did.

I posted a couple of comments on TPMs a while ago in this thread:

Indeed, primarily Russia & China (as well as a couple of others) don't allow TPM at all.
You might want it, it's easy to install the drivers either way. Won't make any difference really if you install it and don't use it though. -
The bottom line is that if you're not planning to use BitLocker, you'll probably not have any reason to install support for it or care about it.
