I'm an alarm tech, I use mine for programming fire alarm systems. My employer has a shared laptop for us techs, but it is a piece of C%#@. It has vista on it and takes 15 minutes just to boot, and some of the programming software just doesn't like Vista. I use a beat up looking 29S and it works great, and I don't have to worry about it getting scratched up in the back of my truck. I picked it up off eBay for $60 w/o caddy or charger, but I had both already so it worked out great. I've added wifi with internal antennas and the dual usb2 pcmcia card so far.

I'm using mine (CF-18) as its very very light to carry around the city -
Easy to use on trains due to smallish size and can be operated in tablet mode with a great touch screen! -
Battery still lasts over 4 hours

Great machine for taking to the park / camping / festivals / beach

I used to wrap it in a plastic bag when it rained . . then I realized they're pretty much storm proof

No fan - so almost silent running - never gets too hot to handle (unlike the Dell which used to burn my legs!)

Our company Dell's and MacBooks have all suffered badly from the plastic cases cracking and the screens breaking off!

The ToughBook has by far the best WiFi I've ever used - even with the standard stock card fitted

    I could go on and on . . . :)
