    DDR2 memory should suffice.

I think that I would go to the various Panasonic websites and check which type memory your machine takes. DDR2 doesn't sound right for your machine; but keep in mind that I have a CF-29 and don't know much about CF-18.

    Go here
    http://www.config.toughbook.com/

Click on discontinued models, select Configure under CF-18, and select the drop downs for your model - CF-18B is a 900mhz.

From that you should be able to decide what memory to use, or have the info to check online.

    Also look at
    http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...Id=11201&catalogId=13051&modelNo=Toughbook-18

to get some info on your tablet.

    I've got a CF-18 D

The DMI viewer shows 2 memory cards - max module size 512mb
One is under the speaker for easy upgrade - just remove the screws and your in.... This was empty when I bought my TB and I've stuck a 512mb module in.

The other is hidden inside somewhere and is 256mb - Not sure if it is possible to upgrade or how easy this would be (anyone know?). I've yet to get a strip down manual.

I've been running like this for a years and a half and find in copes alright with most things I do.

I'd guess the CF-18 B would not handle this much memory(but what do I know?) How did you get on?

The 256mb is builtin, solered on the mbo. and one slot for expansion. As far as I know cf-18MK1 is pc2100.
