Short of spending anywhere from 20-60 bucks on an x-strap I won't use or buying a shoulder strap, soley for the D-ring hardware; I have the ability to sew heavy/thick nylon and I'm looking at making my own carry strap for my CF-19.

The problem is I don't know where to find the D-rings with screw plates that strap manufacturers include with their straps.

Does anyone know of a source?

I bought my last used strap from Proton....threw the strap down the hill and made my own strap.
Be sure to ask for screws.
BTW screws from hinge on CF-29? (I think) do fit.

Let's make this simple, you do know they make a "extension" strap for the 18/19 models? I have one for my Mk3. It snaps into place where you unlatch the strap that should be on your 19 now.

Here is a random picture from the web of one in use. I have had mine for about 4 or 5 years now. Been on a 18 Mk5, 19 Mk1,2,3. so they last.

The extension setup is nice. I scored the strap and extension with the stainless hardware on it.

Just a heads up. The X straps use real funky D rings. Not like the ones in your photo.

Let me see if I have any standard D rings left when I get home tonight. I had purchased about 30 of them.

Good to know there is a stainless version of the extension. I will have to keep a eye out for one for the Mk5.

I do have a few D ring assemblies. They are for a CF 30.
With some minor grinding/filing, they could be made to fit a CF 19.
The black part is wider on these for the CF30. Grind about 1/8 inch from each side and they would fit a CF 19.

It looks like that strap attaches to some D-rings that are mounted to the CF-19, the one I have doesn't have any hardware for a strap as far as I can tell, unless it's built into the bottom half of the case.

I'm assuming that you're indicating my CF-19 should have come with some factory hardware for mounting a strap?

I think the person I bought it from or the company that owned it may have removed any hardware when they retired the fleet/sold them.

This is not my toughbook but the pictures are from the seller that I bought it from, and it's set up the same:

On all four corners of the TB are 45 ° flats with a screw hole. That is where the d-rings mount....depending on how you want to carry the TB. (hinge up or hinge down)

Heh! or get crazy and carry it sideways.

Yes, that link I posted is for a extension strap. Your Toughbook should of had a short strap with it from the factory. I would have to look in the shed but I think I have a few off of some 18's out in the shed. If not one of the parts 19's may have it. Where are you located? Or just send me a PM.
