yea, im glad I bought the right card. It better be good seeing as how it cost me 64$ but wow they used to have those for as low as 32$? lucky... I was worried at first because that 600mw card only has 3 of the 4 main 802.11 standards.. its an a/b/g. whereas, some of those other cards have 4, a/b/g/n. but im guessing that the engenius has more power/ longer range than all of the other ones... just my guess though...
thanks for the feedback -
Why do you need such a powerful Wi-Fi card in your laptop?
I'm asking because speed (N) is more important usually. And increase of mW is not the best way to get longer range. Antennas are important, not power. My Wi-Fi access point is 70mW and has a very good range.
Also you have to remember it's very easy to "black out" good signal with excessive power. -

A few years ago we ran some tests on the N card and the Engenius 600 and 300? card. Not sure if it was Alex or Rick or who and the Engenius 600 won hands down. At my cottage I have no wifi but 2 cottages away they do and my 29 can pull in there wifi no problem at all...I just wish my CF-30 N card would. Almost all the regulars on here will tell you the same story.

I use a Mikrotik 350mw 802.11n. It's the best of both worlds in my opinion. It's actually a router board, but it has the same interface.

If I remember correctly it is model R2N. It is BGN with 2 antennae.
I am using Ubiquity SR71 drivers and client. -
Good to hear from you Rick. I bought a mess of the engenius 600's a while back when they were much cheaper. Still putting them to good use. I like what Shawn says about the mikrotik, must check it out, Toughasnails is doing you proud as a modder. You must make some videos on some of your mods on the 29's available for sale to us for gps innovations. I'd be willing to pay for it. So far I've not sold the first but have given some away to deserving people. Thanks for your pathfinding ways.. I apoligize for changing the path and hijacking this thread guys..Driller

I'm almost offended.
It does have possibilities. That's why I'm using it.
Happy to share. -
And the same company, Flytech Computers, that I posted about having the best price on this card several years ago, still do...
