I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread to help keep all the others cleaner, plus keep all the shippig talk in one spot.
I am curious if anyone has a shipping confirmation yet. I thought there were a few early folks that had shipping dates for this week?
I'll start with my info:
Ordered 128GB on 3/20
Original date was 4/4 as I believe everyone else's was too, but then changed to 4/16 for me maybe a week or so after order
I never received any emails since my initial order confirmation. I read many others say they got an email about a delay, my date changed but no email, even checked in the spam box.
-
Where can I find the shipping date? is this the date(in red) that I find at the bottom of the order status page?
-
Yeah, I wouldn't call it a real ship date but I think that is the only place I see a date to go on right now. I'm assuming we will each get an update right before it actually ships. point
-
Yeah, no updates from Razer as yet. I checked on my order information again this morning just in case anything changed because we're finally (I hope) closing in on the release date, and all it says is that the 512 GB model will be shipped after the 4/16 - which is exactly what it's said for the last couple of weeks. Oh well, maybe between now and the time it actually ships some reviews will finally come in. *fingers crossed*
-
I ordered mine towards the end of March. 512gb. My ship date is 4/16
-
Ordered mine pretty early as well was showing 4/4 but changed to 4/16 for 512 SSD
-
Ordered mine on 4/5 and it says they start shipping on 4/16
-
I placed my pre-order on Mar 20th (256Gb). After having read the forums I've noticed that someone that placed their order on the 14th said that customer support told them they should be in the first shipment. Someone that placed their order in the first days of April was told by customer service that anyone that placed an order after Mar 27th will be receiving theirs after April 30th. So here is what I think the shipment date breakdown looks like:
Mar 16th or earlier = Between 4/14 and 4/22
Mar 16th - Mar 27th = Between 4/22 and 4/30
Mar 27th or later = After 4/30
Please note that I have absolutely no inside information, nor can I even claim to be right. This is merely the impression that I got from gathering information from other people. Please let me know your thoughts about my time-frames. -
I wouldn't agree, honestly. I think it mostly depends on capacity chosen. For example, I ordered mine on April 5th and they still told me it will start shipping on April 16th?
-
Yea I guess I'm mostly talking about the 256 Gb. If they told you that they start shipping on April 16th you may still not get it until after April 30th. They could mean that these machines generally start shipping on the 16th (I think this may be the initial 4/4 date getting pushed back) and you will receive yours sometime after that in the order they received pre-orders. I can't speak to which capacity was discussed, but someone definitely posted a quote from customer service stating that any orders placed after Mar27th would be shipped Apr 30th at the earliest. If I find the quote I'll a link to it. Hate playing this waiting game. I want my beautiful new laptop.
Here's what support said to me about when it would ship out, regarding my question about whether it would ship out on the 4th:
"Thanks for contacting Razer. Though I cannot give you an exact date your order will ship out. We've been taking lots of orders since release so yours will likely hit a little later in the cycle. Please keep an eye on our email for updates from our warehouse team on your specific order." -

Starts shipping on April 16th does not mean YOURS will ship on 4/16, it just means that's when the first batches will go out. as the 256 is the popular medium, my guess is that those are going to have a much higher rate of push back than the 512s, and the possibly the 128s, though that's a hard one to call.
-
Just a quick question, why on earth is there no easy "click here to cancel order" option anywhere on the razer site? I have to contact their customer support just to cancel a preorder?
I think they need to fix their site to be more user friendly.
I ordered the 512gb. But i have been thinking about holding off on letting it hit my bank just yet until taxes are done and i see my return. -
How are your going to hold off on letting it hit your bank, Razer will just charge you when they ship. Unless you are going to cancel the pre-order.
-
Thats pretty much what I'm wondering, is how can i cancel my pre-order from their site? I have found no way other than to contact them myself and i just was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I still plan on purchasing one, just things have come up and i cant do it just yet. Still trying to get last years model off my hands, that would help a lot. -
Uh. You just call their store support number and tell them you want to cancel your order. If it hasn't shipped yet they'll say OK.

Do you know what number that is? They do not list any phone numbers on the web site, just the form to submit a ticket.
-
They updated the shipment date to after release date of 4/23/2014...
Just to give you an idea, I ordered 512gb within the first 2 hours after the announcement. 4/4/2014 > 4/16/2014 > 4/23/2014 -
Razer.. I just checked my order, its delayed to 25th too
-
It is getting silly, Razer should just show a date they are 100% confident in and if it ships early people are happy. This practice of waiting until a day before the deadline and moving it is extremely frustrating. I hope Razer puts a bit more focus into their store experience, this is not the kind of thing a customer paying $2k+ for a laptop appreciates.
-
I placed my pre order for the 512gb version on March 12th, just a few hours after the announcement. The date on the receipt page stated that systems would ship after the release date of 4-4-14. I then received an email from Razer on 4-4-14 stating "
Due to overwhelming demand, your order placed on 3/12/2014 for scheduled shipment on 4/9/2014 has been delayed to 4/16/2014.
For avoidance of doubt, if you have chosen to pay by credit card, it will only be charged upon shipment. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you and we look forward to shipping you your order soon.
Should you have any questions, please do contact our customer support." I have heard nothing since then, so I assume that the systems are still scheduled to start shipping tomorrow. By pushing back the shipping date even further all they are going to do is off retailers who have already taken pre orders who then have to apologize to their customers about the delay and offer various means of compensation. I guess we will find out tomorrow. -
They always compare themselves to Apple but they are not even close to being as good as Apple. I mean Apple has better support and not these ridiculous waiting times.
-
The products are as good as Apple, but they need to work on distribution for sure. This has been a problem with every Blade launch. They promise a date and then push it back for weeks or months. It is just stupid. If they promised a later date to start then no one would be angry or disappointed.
-
So I am on vacation this week, out of town. I can easily say this is the
first time I have been happy about a razer delay! -

Just threw a 256 GB in the cart and hit check out just to see what the projected ship date is, and they're CURRENTLY saying "after 5/09"
-
Ordered a 256 on Amazon March 23rd estimated ship date April 17, 2014 - Friday, April 25, 2014 by 8:00pm
(it used to be 4/16 to something) -
My 512GB shows a date of 4/23 on the order status page. Don't really _need_ it before the next PAX, but would be good to not have to lug the 17" when i want to work remotely.

Some inside info - shipping delays are due to some issues they have with the customs
-
That makes more sense. If it was a demand issue then you would assume that the early adopters would have gotten released.

In other news, team of customs officials enter eSports tournaments with oddly familiar Razer notebooks.Zeelobby likes this.

I'm sorry guys. I wish I could have supplied the first independent review but alas, upon logging in I see that my date has also slipped... Oh well. The customs angle actually makes sense considering Razer has showed up with several of these to major shows, production must be under way. Some people would have received them by now if its simply supply. I also doubt it's a hardware issue considering they've been letting them run on the show floor for hours straight with no concern that they will burst into flame (although hot). I would have been more concerned if they hadn't made a showing at the Nvidia booth.

Same here Ordered 3/16-
Initial ship date- 4/4
Pushed back to- 4/16
Just checked order status for a tracking number and found 4/23!!, another weeks wait!
/sadface -
Starting to fking me off, I have bought this laptop for my trip with girlfriend, didn't get it... Now waiting on it to ship 4/16 so I can have it by my birthday on 4/20....... Fking now pushed back again... This is ridiculous I have been charged (paid with PayPal) and also I paid for express shipping... Worst part? Not one email from razer...
-
Maybe. But they have claimed that those units were "preproduction." At any rate, the most annoying thing is that haven't released any machines to reviewers.
-
Have to admit that I am getting a tad annoyed now that the release date has been pushed back yet again (checked my order status today, and it says the release date is 4/23). I'm starting to think about canceling and waiting a while longer until I see some solid reviews first. Additionally, the more time I've had to think about this, the more I'm starting to feel like waiting until next year to see systems with higher-end 20-nm Maxwell cards.
-
Just got an email from Razer confirming the delay "Due to unforeseen circumstances" and offering a free Razer Orochi coupon code. Eh, not ideal but I'll take it. Wonder if I can request the Mamba instead and pay the difference. Now if they'd also upgrade shipping to "Overnight" I'd feel even better....
-
Got the same Orochi mail. The Orochi is a good Bluetooth mouse. Probably why they chose it. I may see if I can switch back to free shipping from my priority shipping. No real need to pay the extra $40.
-
That's what Alienware did with me. Once my M17x R3 got delayed for a week, they offered overnight shipping for free. I really really hope Razer does the same!
-
ROFL. Don't buy Razer hardware if you don't expect multiple delays. All you have to do is read any of the threads here about the 13 models or the edge and you'll see that there was a delay. I fully expected that as a norm, and bought this knowing i wouldn't receive it on time. I'm more pissed that I did not receive an email for the free mouse. I'll have to send them an email at some point...

Those of us who purchased the previous model experienced the same delays. I placed, cancled, and replaced my order about 4 times before finally settling in for the wait. It cost me about a months extra time. My suggestions is to dig in and wait it out. In the end its worth it.

Or go elsewhere for another device. In the end its been proven that complaining to Razer or complaining on forums does not change the situation. When its ready its ready.

Hmm? I had no delay on my 2013 order. Ordered June 3rd, shipped June 20th.
-
Digital1337 Notebook Evangelist
Sounds like 15-17-days delay to me
-
That was the quoted lead time - shipping in two weeks. This vs the 2014 where they said shipping in two weeks and it is now four weeks since I ordered.
The Edge shipped when they said it would - the end of the month in March 2013. The 2014 14" is the first for me where Razer has slipped the date. -
In Amazon it says "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months."
-
Just received this response to my inquiry...you guys won't like it either because they still don't know.
"Thank you for your recent Razer Blade order from the RazerStore.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to meet our promised shipment date. We are diligently working to get an updated and accurate shipment date. The moment we have a confirmed date we will promptly notify you." -
I finally got my first message since 3/20 when I ordered. They said the same as above and are giving me the free mouse too. And I just ordered a 2nd bluetooth mouse just a few days ago lol.
-
Well, I just got the e-mail about a coupon code for a free Orochi to make up for the delay, yadda yadda yadda. Too bad I already have my Razer Naga Epic - heh.
-
free orochi is great, that's what they gave me when the original blade was delayed. was worth the wait by the way.
