Yeah the fraps was more for the folks with the Blade to view and see if they can notice the ghosting. It makes it easy to go back and forth between the Blade display and a second one and see the difference.

You can see it in this video, sorry for the crap cell phone video but that's all I have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atrnSBvyP20&feature=youtu.be

Tough to see with the video quality. I do see motion blur, if that's what you are talking about. I've always seen that on skyrim though, even at 120 fps

Based on the video, that's the same thing happens to me when I scale down my Alienware 3D screen from 120Hz to 60Hz. Or maybe slightly worse.

For me it is night and day, extremely easy to see in this video even with the quality. It's not visible at all in game on my other LCD's, and on the Blade it looks like this video. I can try it on an external from my blade, but I'm sure its the display, not the GPU.

Smearing, ghosting, blurring, whatever it is, drives me nuts. While colors and viewing angles (like on the 2013 Blade) do not bother me much at all.

If you can't see it in the video, or on your own Blade, consider yourself lucky :) It's kinda like how some people say they can't see the difference between 60 and 120 hz displays, for me it is night and day, and I could pick them out of a lineup every time.

Seems like blurring. I prefer blurring, it's more realistic. Like if you wave you hands in front of your face, it blurs.

Does that happen if you stand still and something moves?

Yes it will happen anytime a black area moves across the screen, even in windows. Like if I open up paint with a black square and move it around it will do the same thing. It's the screen, not anything to do with the game. I also put up a video of my desktop where you can see it's not as bad, I'd say 2 to 3 times as much on the blade as my desktop with the old TN panels.

After playing last night, the vibrant colors kinda make up for it, I am likely going to keep the blade. I'm not sure if I'm getting used to it but it seems less pronounced the more I mess around trying to show it lol. Maybe the screen requires a "burn in" period where the first few hours of use it shows this issue but it gets better?

About the blurring comment, maybe that's why it bothers me so much. I HATE motion blurring in games. To me it not only does it look worse on, it's robs fps. If you gained a few fps with it on maybe I would put up with it, but to me it looks less realistic, less clean, less sharp, and costs performance. I did have it at default 50% during my BF4 test on the first page, but during the months that I played it, I always had it off.

blurring is different from your eyes not picking up the information from your hand moving across your face. blurring makes me sick i cant look at it. your eyes naturally blur everything you aren't directly looking at. why would you want MORE blur. makes everything look like these modern touched up photos where they just blur your skin to make you look like a doll. in real life if you wave your hand in front of your face you DO see a ghost image of your hand trailing your hand.

I understand your side on not liking blur effects, I know some people who don't either. =]

I understand , I actually get motion sickness from many FPS games like boarderlands. I guess that's why I don't seem to mind blurring since I generally don't play games that are affected by it as much.

Thanks for the info and taking the time to report back to us! Definitely a nice looking machine!

But wowsers, 98C fresh out of the box?! I sure wouldn't consider your usage a worse case scenario at all... you are using it brand new 100% dust free with fresh thermal compound while sitting on a desk playing only moderately intense games in a 64F room at stock clocks and voltage.... ie everyday regular usage for this device. An external cooler sitting on beer caps in a 60F room while playing Borderlands with XTU undervolted CPU shouldn't be a Razer requirement... ;)

I hate to think what that temp will be in a 75-80F room in the summer or after dust accumulates internally or while sitting on someone's lap... either 100C+ or some very real throttling. Will be curious to see how this progresses.

Thanks again for the detailed report, enjoy that new bad boy!

You should be in marketing. Advertise a flaw as a feature. Lol.

And for the user indicating motion sickness, try opening field of view. That helps me a lot with Motrin sickness in games.

Any other temp reports, like say 30-60 minutes of gaming in Borderlands or Metro or something that uses the GPU and CPU? People were having a fit over 94 degrees for other devices, 98 seems very close to the thermal limit?

That's what all the programmers do =]

I tried this suggestion before, I actually feel more nauseous with non-standard settings. I did remove the bouncing effect while you run on borderlands though, that seemed to help a lot. =]

Not one video review yet? I really don't care about the gaming aspect I want to see an actual review of the notebook from first glance to design, touch screen response, reboot times, etc. I am going to use this as a development machine: Photoshop, VS2012, SQL, Camtasia. At this rate, when I get mine in June, I will be the first unboxing/overall video review. :|

I've tried Hawken, Borderlands 2, and Skyrim so far. I can't say I noticed any blurring in Hawken or BL, but definitely noticed in Skyrim - I wrote it off as just the usual heavy post-processing in that game (like the eye-dilation effect) on an IPS screen. It looked a bit blurry when I tried it on my Surface Pro as well, though I haven't looked at them side-by side.

I've played Hawken the most so far, and didn't notice anything there (though I wasn't looking for it).

I've been gaming at 1600x900 for that butter smooth fps. I can't see a huge amount of difference been that and native on Hawken or Skyrim. Haven't tried native on BL yet.

I thought the motion blur was just part of skyrim. Every screen I use looks like that.

Like was said before increasing your FOV can help with motion blur that is built into a game. Many games have the option to turn it off, ie. BF3 and BF4.

Well, considering the thermal limit of the CPU to be 100C and the 870m to be 88-90C, I wonder if razer designed the Blade to intentionally sit just shy of those numbers while running at max.

As for dust buildup, I feel any degradation of the cooling performance would pose a serious threat to the internals, unless the laptop dose some serious throttling.

I did do a gaming on battery test, also more temp testing, with the update at bottom of original post. Temps were much better for this 30 min play session while on battery with no degradation of quality while on battery. Next I will do another test on AC for an hour or more to see if the temps climb or level off.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I've been breaking in my Blade Pro, and I've been noticing higher than average heat spikes as well [up to 88-89c CPU] I've ALSO had occasions where it was sitting there idle and out of nowhere the fans would spin up to max, temps would spike, and then it'd mysteriously settle down.

Turns out search indexing and windows Auto-updates were to blame. I disabled indexing in the drive options, disabled windows search in services, and set Windows updates to manual [never check] I haven't gotten to test it TERRIBLY long yet, but it SEEMS as if this has had an effect [I'm staying under 80c now]

Just thought I'd pass it along.

    Hi Everyone,

I new to PC Gaming. I need a laptop I can travel with and has long battery life. I have had my on the blade for the last couple of months. I bit down and ordered the 2013 on sale. I sent it back in 3 days. The screen was not tolerable for 6 and 7 hours of work. I will be gaming mostly during my travels in the hotel room so the Blade 2014 or MSI Ghost (Pro or not) is my best option. I have been reading these post for a few weeks but I have never contributed. Someone posted the link from China of the Razer review. I have translated and posted below. I think everyone will breathe a little easier on the person's temperatures.

I did not edit and anyone can input the original text into google translate for more information.

In nowadays more and more people need to work to complete the prerequisite laptop , portable design has become a major factor to consider , it is also based on the ultra- pole of this product appear . However, although this will be extremely portable and ultra- thin to achieve the ultimate , but it is evident that , because of the heat compromises , its performance also needs to be significantly reduced , most Ultrabook is no separate graphics card, which for some outstanding graphics work and Recreational cause greater impact , many times only to replace the super flat , for those who need high performance , the addition may also need a desktop at home . Therefore, I always wanted to have that light on Macbook Pro Retina has a volume , there are quasi- game performance of the Alienware notebook, this year , The New Razer Blade 14 did.

In fact, long before I had expressed concern about the laptop , but the first of its use or GTX 660M graphics card, this time called the high performance of this and some barely known to 660M with only 384 core , though dubbed the GTX name, but in essence it and GT650M & GTX 560M at the same level . Then, last year, which is further upgraded to the GTX 765M, entered the game graphics entry level , but also enough to attract the author , because it does not change much, just upgrade the video card, and 765M -bit only due to 128bit wide and 64GB / s bandwidth , in fact in a lot of games are 1080p slightly difficult. Finally this year , The Razer Blade 14 for a comprehensive update , not only upgrade the screen to bring a touch of QHD + class 3200x1800 resolution IGZO panels , graphics upgrade to a quasi- game level GTX 870M, so the date of its publication on the next orders. Episode period , orders have been a month ago, where speed of delivery is slightly Razer have to say one of millet dragged demeanor. But go , etc. , etc. , can wait until eventually , the evaluation can finally do this out of the box today .

    First attach configuration
Processor : Intel (R) Core (TM) [email protected] GHz
    Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M with 3GB GDDR5
    Memory : 8GB in 1600Mhz
    HDD : Samsung 128GB M.2 SSD
    NIC : Killer 1102
    Screen : 3200x1800 with MutiTouch

This configuration is regarded as the default version , upgrade the hard drive to the top with sucked 512GB, the other without any change , nearly more than 600 U.S. dollars , but prices are much more expensive , if you remove the default 128GB, which is equivalent to more than 700 U.S. dollars spent to upgrade a 512GB of hard drive. Apple does not seem so pit , people +500 dollar upgrade but 1TB SSD. So I bought the default version of the decisive choice to come back on their own after the upgrade .

    Unpacking articles

Of course , to note that , in order to open the bottom , you'll need a Torx screwdriver.
In addition, the caveat here is that the books screw material is very bad, very easy to slide wire .
There is an old saying , go to a place , assessment of its high-end or not, look at it restroom design , a laptop , assessment of its high-end or not, to see if he screws material .
Razer apparently did not learn that, although this may be a consideration if the demolition had standards, but screw removal process does not experience .

    Summary:
For "Call of Duty 8", " Mass Effect 3", " Titan Fall ," a kind of game , which could at 3200x1800 resolution + high special effects run smoothly.

For the " Need for Speed 18" , "Battlefield 4" , "The Elder Scrolls 5", " sword of the Spirit ," a kind of game , 3200x1800 run smoothly under basic , but still recommended to reduce the effects.

For the " Crysis 3" , "Metro 2034 Dawn ," " Tomb Raider 9 " kind of game , not fluent next 3200x1800 resolution , it is recommended to run down to 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 resolution .

For graphics we use Furmark its 100% full load for 15 minutes baking machine , the software measured scores, because the full reason, much higher than the actual game time in general, and therefore more informative .

After 15 minutes , the maximum temperature of the machine can see only 85 degrees, about 77 to 85 on average , will not rise .

The results show that the heat sink to handle very properly ! You know, with only 384 GT 750M core 15-inch Macbook Pro Retina laptop , baking machine even reach 94 degrees , Razer that the GTX 870M is equipped with up to 1344 cores, 2.6 times the performance of the GT 750M nearly as much as the body the thickness of the case is almost , to get such results , it is tough. MSI graphics cards with similar models, roast machine scores are about 80 degrees, while the thickness of the body but can not be compared.

Practical experience , and after 15 minutes baking machine , the keyboard area is warm , and basically did not feel no effect , only numbers 6-8 key part of this , a little hot feeling. But at the bottom , then in the hot state , the hand can be dragged , it can tolerate , but not placed on the thigh , the temperature is too high.

    Experience evaluation papers
    Screen
Obviously high screen resolution , the resolution of the human eye can not exist particles , 262ppi 14-inch finesse is definitely the highest . However, the screen color reflects the poor , the color is a little colder, though the use of IGZO panels , but in the white background , there was a matte effect TN screen , at this point I personally do not satisfied. Touch experience can compensate for this slightly unpleasant feeling, high accuracy, is even more powerful under the win8 , animation is very smooth, no Caton , and it supports multi-touch , you can set a variety of gestures.

    Graphics
One of the most characteristic of the machine, in the super pole is equipped with a GeForce GTX 870M and no castration core , which belongs to the desktop GTX 670 and on the same hardware . Performance is very high , but in 1800p QHD + resolution, much still bloated , slightly lower resolution or effects when recommended games.

    Sound
Thought that the audio portion of this will be relatively ignored , its built-in speakers, definitely one of the best in the notebook. But unfortunately, it seems that is not equipped with the kind of sound such as Dolby software, so there is no way equalizer settings like the other games of the same.

    Touchpad
After all, do Razer peripherals started, touchpad part yet before I knew there must be a trial on the article . If its not, its touchpad board domain is very wide, and there is delay setting , that is, when you fast-moving and slow slide , moving the mouse will change the speed does not correspond exactly in the speed, it is clear that the background software control. The touchpad also supports multi-touch, if you are accustomed to the use of the apple , then you must also be adapted stretch two fingers to enlarge, two fingers to pull web browsing , etc., is almost completely intact borrowed . In addition, the touchpad buttons are not common around key soft touchpad bomb , but similar to the phone button that feeling , that feeling is not so realistic, it seems always will be down by the collapse .

    Keyboard
Typing feel great, but a little hard on the apples , press down not so soft . Whether it is the key timber , or by going back a sense , have somewhat similar to Apple's integrated keyboard touch.

    DIY
If DIY amplitude of 0-10 , then the present can only get 1 point, the reason is very simple, that the addition to the card and PCI M.2 hard disk can be changed, everything else is soldered on the motherboard , but to do Ultrabook thickness , which is inevitable.

    Portable
This presumably Needless to say, six hours of use, plus the slim, laid the game ranked first in the middle position. Although you may feel compared to the super heavy for a little bit , but this is the quasi- game .

    Shell
As a result of black paint color , basic shell is a fingerprint collector, but feel pretty good , and Apple feels this is also similar. However , the absolute scratch -resistant than apples this , I do not care during removal powerhouse screwdriver slipped slightly shell , the result even minor scratches are not a trace left , as if nothing had happened , from this point of view, at least the enclosure for the sharp objects still have considerable anti-planning capabilities.

    Noise
The usual web browsing and working with documents no sound , it will carry only full game . The noise generated in the basic tolerable range, I used Apple MBPR, MBA, aliens Alienware M18X/17, DELL XPS 13, SONY Series models , etc. in terms of contrast , New Blade is absolutely noise mean less.

    Detail
Razer claiming attention to detail, but it seems not comprehensive , for example, the use of screws , widescreen brings uncomfortable feeling , as well as screen axis shaking problem , there are still many details to be ignored or not addressed due to technical problems .

    Workmanship
External 1:1 good, either processed or combined slot portion has a high level of Apple . But internal indeed far from satisfactory , the timber can be clearly felt very general .

    Summary
Which is to say that this year so far has the most dazzling notebook comes as The New Razer Blade. Its performance in terms of portability or have done a perfect combination of temperature control is also obvious to make this super this model has reached a new height. Many of my friends are concerned that this laptop , or because of their year with the GTX 870M graphics card, can responsibly say that he will not let you down , he does not have any restrictions OEM manufacturers , battery can also play a full performance . However, at the same time everything seems perfect , Razer is not necessarily to have a lot of time making and selection of questions from actual experience is concerned, he is more like a MBPR of Engineering Edition , speaking from the details still do not have this kind of satisfy everyone , from DIY speaking this is a configuration of the crucifixion of the game , there is clearly much to learn Razer .

Oh... I have ordered the 2014 Blade 256gb a few days back. Email said May 23rd but based on other threads I am expecting it in the middle of June. That noted I have had my eyes on the GS60 Ghost or Ghost Pro. I keep thinking if I want best portability and best graphics the Blade is the way to go. But I not sure I will be waiting past June 15th.

I am betting that they will fullfill all pre orders in May. Based on what I have seen there is NO other notebook that is comparable to this beauty. No major heat issues, super portable, damn good specs and rich design is a huge advantage over anything else on the market. The only thing I have seen that I would even buy is an Asus. Everything else is 15" or more and 14" is the largest notebook I would ever buy.

The Razer Blade 2014 and MSGS60 are both in the same class. I guess it depends on tastes.

I'm glad to see more content on the Razer. Finally a video and some content.

I am thinking the same thing on the form factor and overall design. This is a notebook I can comfortably bring into a presentation. I work for a IT firm so we have some breathing space with clients on having the latest gadgets. I am very pleased to hear there is confidence Razer will fulfill their May orders. Truth is I really do not want the MSI but patience is a difficult virtue with tech.

Honestly I think ghosting is not only a product of the panel but the drivers as well. On my dell u2713 I didn't even know what ghosting was while using amd cards. Once I switched to nvidia I started to see ghosting.

I don't get the comment about the scratches. Is he saying that the casing is scratch resistant?

He means that "he accidentally scratched his notebook by screwdriver, and there has not even a single scratch on the case, seems like the scratch resistant is pretty good." something like that.

Kinda think they're needlessly limiting themselves with this one to gamers and enthusiasts. Without that lighted Razer logo on the lid and some neutral keyboard backlight (e.g. white) it would look like a black Macbook Pro which I'm sure lots of people would go for. Add another memory slot (so 16 GB is possible) and a few more configurations (like with e.g. Full-HD IPS screen and weaker GPUs, same screen but with Quadro GPUs, etc.) and it would hugely extend the potential customer base as there's little or no competition currently for such a powerful and compact 14" laptop.

I could see myself foregoing the upgrade options of my 17" workstation and the need for an extra 13" portable laptop if I'd go with this one, but personally, the 8 GB RAM limit, the green logo and the green keyboard backlight are killing it for me. The limited storage options are also a problem, but that can be worked around..

I agree with that. I am a photographer and photographers are always looking for compact laptops with decent power. They also tend to like a very good screen (although I dont often process with the laptop screen). The new 2014 looks great but the 512GB max storage pretty much kills it for photographers. Also I do wish manufacturers would tell people the color gamut of the screen. I can see that the green glowing logo on the back would irritate some people. What they should really do is tie it in with the keyboard lights that you can dim or switch off - instead of the screen (maybe they have changed this with the 2014.)

Not going to happen, at least while the company stays privately owned. You're talking about a company who's motto is: for GAMERS by GAMERS.

Even if they did, preferably sans all the shudder worthy changes you've suggested, they have a hard enough time meeting demand for their customer base as it is.

You do understand they cannot meet demand of even that small niche of a market, correct?

It's a gaming laptop. If you need a productivity machine buy a ThinkPad.

You do read messages with comprehension before you respond to them? Yes, it's a gaming laptop, but the point is that it doesn't have to be only that. Thinkpad? I already have a Dell Precision, thanks, but it needs to be a 17" model to get the same graphics power as in the 14" Razer. Again, I'd expect many IT professionals would love a 14" black Macbook Pro lookalike workstation with Geforce/Quadro cards they normally get with thick and heavy 17" workstations. Dell already tried to do something like that with M3800, but it's 15,6" and is a copy of their XPS line (IMHO, not an attractive design) with a Quadro card (albeit a rather weak one). It's not a problem if the potential of this eludes you as you don't care about it, but IMHO it's unfortunate that Razer don't care about it. It would be a risky move to get a reasonably large investment into more devices and marketing, sure, but that's what business is about - finding a demand and meeting it. They surely found a gaming one, but this thing could do much more IMHO.

I love the idea of a configurable RAZER but I think you would give up the thin and light form factor by having socketed hardware. Most everything is soldered on and it helps keep everything more compact, the downside to that is you can't upgrade a lot of hardware either and it would probably more expensive with the socketed hardware too.

If it was a reply to my post, I understand there's no space for upgradable components, hence I never wrote configurable, but configurations, meaning, there would be several pre-made configurations (suiting different customers) to choose from.

Added configurations = cost. From a sourcing standpoint, it's way cheaper to buy 1000 mobos of one configuration over 250 each of four configurations. That's why modular components exist in the first place.

Insulting me doesn't help your argument.
Razer's had ample opportunity to do just that over the past couple of years. They haven't.
And those same "professionals" would be whining about lack of options, the same options that would compromise the 14" Blade's form factor.

That we know of, there are a grand total of two modular components in the 14" Blade - an 80mm M.2 drive and a PCIe WiFi card. Modular RAM and more drive slots would sacrifice the form factor. As a gamer, I say, "No, thanks."
How does pointing out that there are other manufacturers who provide options get you to that conclusion?
Both Alienware and VoodooPC tried going down that road. Alienware is a shadow of its former self and VoodooPC is dead. Third time's a charm is fine for fairy tales, but I don't think I'd risk a business on it.
Razer has a niche market effectively all to themselves. Not seeing the problem as long as they're profitable.

I agree the Blade pushes the boundaries of a business laptop in appearance. I sale IT to hospitals and it is unlikely the CNO or Pharmacy Director will no its a gaming laptop. Which is exactly what I am looking for in a gaming laptop I will take into a business presentation. On the off chance someone in the group I am presenting to knows what a Razer Blade is it is likely he/she will have a common and respected interest.

That noted I would prefer the green back lighting on the keyboard and logo to not automatically illuminate at start up.

I went and looked at slim 15.6 notebooks at best buy. I understand the form factor will be different on the Ghost but in my opinion it is just to big for business travel.

I'm in on the Blade 100%.

Sorry, but that was just copying the tone of your post. Yes, they only have two modular components, but, again, they could make several motherboard configurations - e.g. one for professional use with a e.g. Quadro K5000M (same GPU as 870M basically) and 16 GB of RAM, mSATA slot and no logo on the cover/different backlight. So, it would be as powerful as my Dell 17" workstation, but very much portable (twice as lighter and much smaller).

Personally, I don't need the Quadro graphics, I'd be super happy with the current Geforce card, but can't stand the green keyboard backlight and can't take a laptop with that green logo to business trips (16 GBs would also be a safer bet since I'd be using it for several years at least).

I don't recall these business laptops from Alienware and VoodooPC you refer to, but I'm sure the technology at the time didn't allow for what Razer did here (so much power in such a small and well designed package).

I immediately acknowledged that it'd be a risky move, but Razer's niche is not that niche (there's like MSI, Alienware, etc.) so not expanding your options is also risky and I'm not sure they're really making noticeable growth with what I presume are relatively small numbers of Razer Blades made and sold.

They cannot add RAM without sacrificing the form factor. They cannot add different GPUs and storage options because they'll be left with a pile of notebooks that professionals won't buy.

There is nothing stopping another company from doing what Razer has done in the laptop space, except the whole finding a market problem. Affluent gamers will pay for Razer's technology. Professionals apparently won't because HP and Dell have nothing available that compares.

The closest any other company gets to Razer is Apple. Losing an hour of battery life to run Windows doesn't seem terrible given that one will be stuck tethered to a wall socket if one wants to make use of a beefy GPU.

Alienware and VoodooPC sold out to become "larger". Doing so ended the companies as their founders knew them.

Prior to Razer I bought a laptop every few years. The last laptop I bought that was non-Razer for myself was an Alienware M11x. It was returned because it was a piece of crap. Since Razer has been shipping systems, I've been buying two Razers a year.

Razer has gone from a single 17" model to 17", 14", and tablet models in less than three years. Certainly seems like growth to me.

Gaming PCs are the one rosy section of PC sales in the past few years (Maingear's average system price is $4000). Razer's capitalizing on that. There's apparently a bunch of us older folks with both the cash to spend and the same sense of style that Razer has applied to their systems. It's ok if you aren't one of us. Not being one of us does not portend doom for Razer. :)

Large corporations are going to centralize processing power in a datacenter and use thin clients for remote usage. There are a bunch of technologies that enable that. nVidia and AMD both have offerings that provide high end GPU power on remote desktops. If I'm a corporation, I'm going to centralize that power and replace servers every couple years rather than provide all my engineers really powerful laptops.

What kind of flawed logic is that? If it doesn't exist, it's because it's not needed? What about the concept of innovation? Besides, Dell is trying to get into that market(e.g. M3800).

One of you? What's this? A pissing contest? I thought you said you're an adult.

Well, now you're contradicting yourself. They would be doing that already if there was a need for it.

But, seriously, you could say the same for gaming although it doesn't work? Why? Because you just don't have ultra fast and reliable Internet access everywhere you go and if your company gives you a laptop instead of a desktop, it's because you need to go somewhere occasionally.

Anyway, enjoy your Razer(s). I might get one if they decide to offer an alternative to the green stuff as I have no sense of style.

I never said that. I've pointed out it doesn't exist because no company has found a viable market for it.
The M3800 appears to be a rebadged XPS. It'll have all the compromises the XPS line has.
it's an observation that you don't appear to fit the type of person Razer is marketing their laptops at.
RDP sessions are low bandwidth, though that wasn't entirely the point. Corporate laptop fleets get a decent VAR discount. Small business/individuals won't see that discount. Given the individual pricing that an HP or Dell workstation-class laptop carries, I'm not seeing the market for a svelt version as large enough for professionals. The laptop you seem to be envisioning would probably cost twice as much as a Blade if Dell or HP did it.
    I'm sure we will.

The biggest update is I verified that you can get 4k output from the laptop, only at 30 hz by default (which meets the advertised HDMI 1.4a) but possibly go higher by setting custom resolution. I had to use a high speed HDMI cable (27Gbps IIRC) to get that 30 hz, as my cheapo cable I brought with only did 23/24 hz. For windows use I would take 30 hz, for games I would not like that unless in certain games I found it a good trade off. I couldn't do any testing at 2560x1440 because it doesn't show up in the razer dropdown menu.

In my excitement to find the max resolution from the HDMI output, I missed half of the question at hand (max refresh rate), oops.

If you go into Nvidia control panel, you should be able to hit customize and choose your own resolution. That's nice to know it can hit 4k at 30 Hz. Should output 1440p just fine. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah I was trying to be quick about the whole thing, and I didn't want to take the chance of hurting their display or getting a scrambled image on the big screen by forcing things. FYI you cant do it through the nvidia control panel, rather you have to use the intel since it controls the screen output.

The biggest issue now is, what display can I get that will work with the razer? My luck I would buy a decent 27" display and it would only accept 1080 through the HDMI port and only accepts 4k input from DP. Why does this have to be so complicated?

Side note, I did try out the Sharp QHD+ or whatever they call it, they basically use subpixels to simulate a 4k display. It did work, but it was really fuzzy compared to the true 4k display and was obvious it wasn't native.

Hey, I'm interested in getting people's opinion about the Blade for business. Personally, I think the neon green is a bit out there but, you can just turn off the back light.. as for the logo maybe just put something over it-- not quite sure what (open to ideas). Also, in general, I'm just not sure how much people would care, if you think about it macbook's were just as bad a few years ago, and now are accepted.

In regard to that whole argument, the reply is still fairly simple.. the RB is essentially one of a kind in terms of power vs size and build quality, so there isn't really anything to get instead, if you dont like the green.

Personally, I'm not the biggest gamer so I dont necessarily require the blade for gaming, however I run other taxing programs, and need a PC of mac quality.
