I was able to read 2 of the chips ( the ones near the top ) I saved them both as .bin files and only one was able to be opened. This is what I got when i opened it, Is this the BIOS chip I am looking for?

Yes that sounds right, it's either 8mb or 16mb?
-
there is a 8mb chip, i haven’t read it yet. i don’t know what chip i need to set it to. The bios is 16MB though after extracted from razer updated. I flashed it to the chip and the power button wouldn’t work. Flashed back to dump and power button worked again

I don't know man - it "just works" for the rest of us. You're doing something wrong along the way - hard to tell without having the machine sitting in front of us.
-
i would assume the process is the same though? So since a 16mb chip it would be ON a 16mb chip?

This makes sense to me yes - the file in the Razer Updater BIOS package is always 16mb BUT they have in the past split the "main" part of the BIOS and the Intel ME region to different chips so I don't know for your particular model. I know that RB17 2019 has the full 16mb BIOS on 1 chip then a copy of it on a backup chip that it writes to itself if you brick. 15 didn't have this brick protection which is why you're in the predicament you're in now unfortunately.

Do you think if i contacted razer support if they’d tell me if they knew?

All the support will tell you to do is give the serial number and restart/reinstall WIndows - everybody will tell you here they don't know ****. You just need to read the right chip (16mb) and write the BIOS downloaded for the right version of the laptop from their website. :S

it sounds so simple but maybe I’m just stupid ha ha, what are the odds it works be split between 2 chips

Be better asking somebody else who has revived or edited their RB15 with a programmer, there must be one here?
-
Most of the forums are so old that they don’t reply and revive the thread

I'm sure SO many of us were talking about flashing the chip to unlock the ME to overlock BCLK very recently?
-
if i read the hex code of the bricked bios vs the hex code of the bios from racers website would they look identical?

Yes if the clip gets good contact and a good read, no if not.
-
the chip that i have been flashing had the almost identical dump as bios, but when i write it the power button no longer works. do you think i could be getting a bad contact? i have to hold it with my hand so sometimes i mess up half way through but it usually aborts if it cannot write anymore
