I'm about to pull the trigger on the new model, and then found out that Razer crippled their 8750h model to 45w cpu power limit.
So the question is, what about 9750h? Did Razer cripple that one as well?
I don't want to spend $3000, and find out the cpu is 20% worse than the other competitors.
Thanks

Isn't the 8750H and 9750H a 45W CPU? Wouldn't crippled mean they limited it to below the max power rated for the chip (like 35w)?
-
Yeah, on paper the 8750H are rated 45W and 2.2ghz base frequency. But in reality, they are able to get 3.9 ghz all core frequency and require 55watt+ power limit, which is not achievable on Razer.
So the question is, will I be able to get 4ghz all core frequency on the new 9750h? Or does Razer still lack of the confidence with their cooling system as well? -
Also I think you are confused with TDP(Thermal Design Power) with actual power draw.....
-
The problem is not that Razer lacks confidence in their cooling system.
They made a design choice where they pushed form factor and clock speed limits to keep the laptop cooler.
I had a choice between the chip you are looking at and the older one and I went for the older version laptop. Should you get a 5 kg laptop with more real estate for cooling, then the chip you want is a must have. In this Razer Blade 15 Advanced package you need to make a few compromises.
I would not want my laptop to run 90 degrees on a daily basis just for bragging rights because I got a newer chip. Its a 2500-3300 EUR laptop and you pay for form factor more than for parts.Joikansai likes this. -
To boost to 3,9 all cores you don’t need 55+ watt. Even 25 watt can boost also to 3,9
PS: no imon (Bios) tweak default setting with only xtu undervolting. Second screenshot is egpu setting low score is because it was dx12 that isn’t optimized yet for egpu world, dx11 no lag but still lower than dx12 on dgpu performance, only for core frequency showing purpose. -
On balanced mode with a -135 UV and speed shift set to 127, I pull 3.9 on all cores with only 28W.
Where did you get your info? Lol -
You need to have proper expectations. Most limited the power limits in some way but Razer is offering in general smalle rmodels than the competition, to keep thermals in check they are probably limited yeah.

Try the same in prime95....you see it go down quite a bit.
Guys, what's the cpu power limit with Razer Blade 9750h?
