Hmm been having issues cancelling my order for the last 3 days. Finally they tried to cancel my order today I get a notice that they can not cancel it and it has been shipped.

Hmm I hope razor blade will win me over to keep this laptop.
    Razer Blade 14 512 GB.

Has anyone tried the Fedex Customize Delivery feature? My building is the last place Fedex drops off (around 7pm). Can I have them hold it at the hub for me to pick it up in the morning without them making an attempt to deliver the package?

Can any new Blade Pro owners please do me a favor and check their screen manufacturer. Mine has a LG 173WF1. I know the older systems had AUO B173HW01 V5 which is far superior. I wan't to see if I got extremely unlucky or if they switched for all systems. Thanks for your help.

Yes you can, I was going to opt for this as well but my cousin offered to just stay home and receive it.

On topic, mine just got picked up by FedEx in NY today. Was told roughly 5 working days, but that'd land on the weekend. I just sold my current laptop now too, so no access to a computer for the next week. I've never felt so disconnected in my life. Lol.

    HWiNFO64 - CPU - Idle
    2013-06-25_00-53-30_idle.jpg

    HWiNFO64 - CPU - Load - Cinebench 11.5
    2013-06-25_00-57-37_load.jpg

I switched to Cinebench for a CPU load because the Prime95 load only reached 2700 MHz (compiler/Haswell/user error?). If I understand correctly, the Turbo Boost for the 4702HQ is 7/7/9/10, so it should be 2200 + 7 * 100, or 2900 MHz under a 4 core load. Which is what the Cinebench CPU test load indicates. The funny thing was I had to run the test several times in a row for the Blade to hit the set point temp, because it finished the render so fast (it scores a 6.28).

Razer's got their shipping process down so well that I cancelled my order last Friday and a 512GB unit still shipped to me today.

    I don't even...

    @r4st3r,

Whats your windows experience index? (WEI)
Also isnt the CPU temps considered a bit too high?
When you laptop was on load was the heat uncomfortable?
Can you run HWmonitor in the background and just play like crysis 3 for a bit then report your temps?

    Thanks bro

Hey guys, I really want to use the 14 inch blade in a professional setting, but I need to know about the logo. Is it painted on, attached, engraved etc? It would really help me out, ty!

I'm pretty sure the logo lights up, from the video's that I've seen. Can the lights be turned off on the logo? I don't know

thats probably because after awhile the CPU throttles down to 2.7 with sustained load. Cinebench probably only took less than a minute? Dunno. but your temps are great regardless.

Bro. considering macbook pros get around 104 and alienwares get mid 80s. Those temps are really good. the old M14x got to 90s. Granted those are 45w chips, but still. mid 80s in a modern CPU is nothing.

Infact if Razer allowed the CPU to reach the same temperature apples allows in their machine, the blade would have a 47w chip.

THIS IS URGENT! I'm about to pull the trigger on the Pro but I've heard that people said fans are very loud and overheating took place in the previous models. Does that still exist? Since Razer have solved that on the 14 I would assume they did it on the Pro as well. Please reply ASAP cause I've got to order quick!

Is that the new AW 14 that does mid 80s?

Like he said. :) The rate at which heat is dissipated depends on the rate of air flow and the difference in incoming and outgoing temperatures. The hotter the CPU/GPU is allowed to get, the more effectively the heat will be dissipated.

It's funny. I look at this Razer Blade 14 as a compromise that still works for me regardless of the screen. I looked at the competitors here and really found the look and bulk off-putting. Gigabyte looks super bland, MSI is too flashy, etc.

The thread title is, "New Razer Blade & Razer Blade Pro". I think the shipping and pre-ordering mess is intrinsically related to the thread. Why not have a new thread specifically for the two new models of Razer laptops?

We get that you're enamored with your new laptop. Congratulations! Some of us, though, are busy trying to figure out why Razer's charged our payment methods for orders that we cancelled and are now forced to go through a formal return process to receive refunds.

Seriously there should be a separate thread for orders at this point. For that matter there should be a separate thread for the blade pro and blade 14.

We should let this one die, we can make a owners lounge (Im so not going to do this, johnnobts do please do)

and a separate thread about orders status, its going to provide space for everyone that wants hands on/benchies/impression and share of problems/solution, and the other solutions/sharing of the problems

So today nvidia released new beta drivers which claim to support the GTX 765m yet when I tried to install them it failed. In looking through the inf files it seems the 14" Blade is not using a standard hardware id. Given that, does this mean we won't be able to use drivers directly from nvidia? Was this true with previous Blades?

Can one of the current owners just unscrew the backplate and shoot us a pic? I'm pretty sure we can figure out if it's soldered just by a quick look.

Is msata necessarily unsoldered? I know it's msata, but is it soldered or screwed? That makes a huge difference...

hmm I don't like this.... I hated proprietary drive crap. I noticed on the support page for Razer that they pointed to Nvidia's own website for drivers. Could the beta just be a glitch?

My 17" Blade used the default nVidia drivers. I'm not sure if they changed it for the 14" one, but I doubt it.

Thanks donkey. I'm hoping this is just a glitch. It seems odd given how Razer said they worked so closely with nvidia on the new Blade that nvidia wouldn't already have it supported in their official drivers

I would imagine it's a real mSATA card or why would they call it mSATA. It would just be flash nand silicon and a controller randomly soldered to the main pcb at that point.

Here is the new Blade Pro with the cover off. As you can see the HDD bay is still there.

It doesn't look like they removed the SATA connector on the Motherboard that was in the R2. Now my question is what kind of cable do I need to hook a 2.5" SATA SSD into this plug?

Any help with this would be great, as I only bought the 256gb model thinking I could just use the 256gb SSD drive that I already had to get me to 512gb.

Maybe we can get a blade or R2 owner to take a close up of the SATA cable. A quick google search revealed a bunch of cables that looked similar to the pics Ive seen but its hard to tell without a closeup.

Not bad, i like how they left the easy to reach Msata empty. looks like they are learning. I would like to see one of the CPU heatpipes connect to the GPU heatsink. The way they allowed 3 heatpipes to cool is GPU is nice though.

But what the hell are those red waxy looking things around the ram?

PS: the battery is labeled 'betty'. haha

Did you see any sort of warranty sticker or otherwise an indicator that could be used by Razer to show that the laptop has been opened from the bottom? Would like to buy the 128GB version then replace both SSDs with M500 480GBs in RAID later on (once they release).

The mSATA port is in the middle above the battery, where the connector and gray area with two stickers are.

Interesting. Maybe some kind of adhesive to hold the chips in place during reflow soldering?
