I'm in agreement. I would think this could be done with a macro in Synapse, perhaps?

I though the same, but while recording macros, the FN button is not registered. :(
And options are only media functions, but not the other ones like brightness

Can someone link where they saw Razer posting release dates of July 8 for the 128 GB? Trying to better guesstimate Amazon here.

Similar note, do you sometimes experience the Fn key being registered as being held down even if you aren't pressing it anymore?

Physically, the key isn't stuck, but the system behaves as if I'm holding it down (number keys don't work and pressing any of the Function buttons alone produces the same result as if I'm pressing Fn + Function button). Not sure why really, does get kind of annoying at times though.

Will let you know or post if i find a way around pressing it as well.

Maybe another software... Reassigning the keys is probably the best option.
Try googling KeyTweak, it has a learn mode that records special keys.

For those who are waiting from Amazon, I received a rather coy response from them today. They said they very well may have the Razer in stock but simply have not been authorized to release any product yet by Razer. They backed off of that when I pressed for confirmation that they in fact had product from Razer waiting to ship on authorization....

    They probably do have it.
They were doing the same with the new Acer s7-392, waiting for the release day, to get it up for sale. Since the release date of the Acer was today, it was put up and I already ordered it.
Once I receive both I will compare and choose witch one will be kept.
All of these 1st release issues like screen, grounding, lack of tb, lack of sd, buttoned trackpad, put some serious questions for me to think about... Really a shame but I believe my m18x r2 will stay on my desk for a while longer and the s7-392 will travel with me... Damn, I could have had 2 in 1 if it wasn't for those tiny problems that when added up kind of puts me off really :S

For anyone who has received their 14, can you possibly take a pciture of the screen showing both a game and a picture/movie screen? I'm interested mainly in the optimal viewing angle.

From reviews I've seen, it looks like at a good angle the screen is actually very good, and the black color might benefit a bit from turning down the brightness.

I dont expect a macbook pro screen, but at least an average one. It seems some videos it does look above average even, for instance the user who posted the video with the planet earth video playing and showed viewing angles. The color looked great and vivid when it was at a normal angle.

Just curious if anyone can confirm that while I wait for mine to ship, or possibly cancel if the screen actually is horrible?

Can anyone who recently received their Blade 14 post when they got it and when they placed their order? I ordered mine 6 days ago and it's still "Order in progress" and I'm trying to determine whether or not I should buy a charger for my current laptop (it broke and a replacement is relatively expensive) or just wait it out with nothing.

I'll post a quick review once I receive mine, and I'll compare the screen to one on a late 2009 normal macbook

This might not apply to you since you're asking about the 14".

I got the 17" and I ordered back in June on the 15th.

My order status STILL says "Order Submitted" so you're already ahead of me here.

There is a notice at the bottom of the page that states the "This order will be shipped after the release date of 7/15/2013 for Razer Blade Pro 17” Gaming Laptop..."

It previous stated 7/8/2013 but has recently been changed to the 15th.

I ordered mine June 19th and I got it July 5th. Unfortunately it had dead pixels so I sent it back within an hour of receiving it. It's looking like I'll be getting it's replacement at the end of this week. Sucks.

I'm a noob also.. I think you can right click on it and select "install profile".

Then you want to set it as default. I'm sure there is a faster way to get there, but I right click on my desktop -> screen resolution -> advance settings -> Color Management -> Highlight Razer Laptop profile and set it as default.

If we were to compare the Blades screen resolution to the Alienware m14x R2, would the quality be the same? I remember having the R2 and the screen to me was decent. But I didn't like the system so I returned it.

What more interesting is that it seems lenovo will also have a 900p IPS option. I have never heard of a 900p ips screen.

But the t440s is disappointing. it looks like only 37w dual core CPUs will be offered(judging by the mediocre cooling) and they might get rid of dedicated graphics all together. All this sacrifice is made to have a gimmicky replceable battery and HDD. I have never bought a secondary battery is my life and i doubt many users will find that feature useful compared to just a single large fiixed battery.

What was the estimated shipping date when you bought it?
On June 29th, when I bought mine, it said 5-7 working days.
The order was confirmed on July 1st (international billing address), so, I suppose, 7 working days will be due tomorrow the 10th of July...
Hopefully it will not be delayed as I will be at the delivery address (hotel) only until wednesday

I bought mine on the 26th of June, just a few days after the shipment date changed from 2-4 weeks down to 5-7 days. Almost 2 weeks later and no word. I don't care too much that it takes 2 weeks, I just don't like the fact that the estimate is not accurate. Maybe it is not Razers fault, but it makes me want to trust them less.

I just sent this nippy email to Razer and the one below it to Amazon. I am getting sick of this lack of communication. I've just had radio silence since sending them, haha. So ridiculous.

Can you PLEASE stop taking orders on the Razer Blade 14 until you catch up on demand and can provide to external distributors and be honest about availability on your website? Or at least be honest with your estimates and transparent with your information? A lot of us are becoming frustrated and would be FAR less so if you would just say outright, "We aren't planning to give the blade to other distributors (Amazon, etc.) until next year (which is honestly what it looks like)" or "it says 5-7 days on our website, but we really mean 5-7 weeks". Have someone who does maintenance for the site update that number more often! 5-7 days is a lie at this point, as many people are getting backorder emails even now. TALK to your distributors! Tell them you're looking at a 3-4 month delay, that way they can inform their customers to drop their pre-orders if they want a laptop to use before Halloween. If you can't handle the demand, then stop acting like you can. Stop taking orders and catch up first! AND be honest and forthright with us! We are loyal customers who care enough to buy your products, but without good customer service and reliable information, your reputation as a company will tank quickly.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you PLEASE press Razer for some answers then? Get them to say, "We aren't planning to give the blade to other distributors (Amazon, etc.) until next year (which is honestly what it looks like)" or "it says 5-7 days on our website, but we really mean 5-7 weeks" or something? There are many customers waiting for this product, so do your due diligence and push for more information. That way if we need the laptop before Halloween and they know for a fact that they won't be able to catch up with demand until December, that we can cancel our orders! Have someone who does maintenance for the item page update the preorder to "out of stock", or "ETA January 2014" after pressing Razer for at least an estimate of what QUARTER of the year they will be giving you stock during. How can you still take preorders if you know ZERO information about how many units you'll be receiving and when? You MUST have some information, and if you don't, then as the largest online shopping site in the world, it's your job to GET SOME. I'm not even asking for the month at this point. I just want to know if I should cancel my order and reorder at Christmas-time.

It is a shame that they are all behaving like amateurs. I am actually rather surprised. Razer isn't a new business and must have established distribution channels. Yet the laptops seem to just be trickling out from them. Amazon is a whole other story entirely. I agree that it almost seems like a phantom ordering process with them. I'll give it a few more weeks as I am not in a crazy rush and quite frankly there isn't a whole lot else out there catching my eye at the moment. But this is all not helpful for Razer.

No. Sorry I thought it was clear. The estimate was 2-4 weeks, and then it dropped to 5-7 days. That is what drove me to order. I am still sitting at "order in process" after nearly 2 weeks.

Nah that's the weird part, it was already on 2-4 weeks backorder delivery, but there was also a limited stocks/quantities/supplies (can't remember exact formulation) mention along with it that now vanished within the last couple hours.
