Though this is not the place to ask that particular question, the build quality of clevo laptops are excellent. They don't necessarily look as high end and polished as a razer notebook might be, but they have very sound build quality and are made for enthusiasts, who obviously have very high expectations for quality and performance. I'd recommend a clevo if you're looking for the best hardware for the lowest price point.

Yes Razer Calls it EOL (END OF LIFE) -- if u look it up on wikipedia:
Also razer took down the sbui dev forums... They have been down for more than six months for longer than the razer blade 2015 has been out... they told me a long time ago that it would be back up shortly and they were fixing it up... HOWEVER IT IS STILL NOT UP. their website promises continued support but i havent seen an app or app update since the dev forums closed. Apps are not working anymore and no one gives a ****. No synapse updates in the last month. Still have driver issues and stuck key issues/poor wifi. Their website promises that the platform will always have new apps and support. The sbui crashes all the time and performance is not adequate. Recently i have had screws FALLING OUT OF MY LAPTOP. I had never opened it up before either. I asked razer for more screws and they sent them but told me that because the seal fell out with the screw my warranty was (again) void if it wasnt already. A guy on Amazon.com had a similar issue.
Many other people have had similar issues

I just had a Synapse update last week...
I am not arguing that their CS can suck but it specifically says on their website that if you purchased an extended warranty or the regular warranty is still valid. If your machine was still during their 1 yr regular or 2 year with extended it was still valid. -

Yesterday i spoke with a guy who works at Nvidia... He told me that Nvidia obsesses over blade pros but they use external mice with them and don't use the touchpads - he also told me that they replace their systems yearly which i think is insane considering it is a $3000 system.

The nvidia guy asked me what trackpad manufacturer it was and i told him cypress he told me that my issues made sense.... lol

I don't recommend buying the new razer blade. I got the 2014 blade and it had terrible build quality. Had to be RMA'd two times in the past year for about a month lost without the computer, and now it has another problem which they refuse to cover.
In my opinion go with any other gaming laptop, I guarantee they will have better build quality and costumer service -

This is a replacement laptop after having RMA 4 or so times for various issues such as stuck keys. This laptop is only a few months old. It still has touchpad crashing and stuck key issues. Don't worry my memory just failed right when I your reply. lol

Honestly.. I think they should just abandon it and make a good 17" to compete with the likes of MSI and Auros.mason2smart likes this. -

Actually, Razer closed down the SBUI forums without any notifying any devs about 6+ months ago. I asked a long time ago and they told me it was for some maintenance and it would be back up in a week. Lol. Still isn't back up yet. It just tells everyone they aren't authorized to view the forum. The apps for the SBUI are not working because no one is updating them or making new ones. Yet razer continues to make new razer blade pros. The brand new twitch app they made for the blade pro 2014 stopped working 3 months later and hasn't worked since. Also there is the weird stuck key issue..... And the lag spikes as well...
Lol my laptop is completely dead now. It won't even boot. Razer says I'm in warranty even though I know I am not --lol. Will RMA... This occurred right before finals too... Probably will replace it later this summer with a gt80 from MSI once skylake comes out in August if I can make it that far... -
GT80? That's about as far from something like the Blade Pro, GS60, or Auros X7 as you can go.

Just got back in town today. Opened up the laptop and started setting up windows (as, of course, they wiped it even though I told them I could not recover my stuff from the hard drive). Soon as I finish, it BSOD's again... They claim to have given it a 4 hour stress test before sending it back. Total BS.

Depends on what's making it crash.

Just had it replaced for a second time - sent it in like 3 times in past month - because my gpu failed. The referb I was sent either has no battery or the battery just does not work.

did anyone get the wake on wireless lan to work on razer blade? the wireless card seem to support it

I own a Razer Blade Pro (2013) notebook and owned a couple other Razer products. My experience has been pretty consistent across Razer products:
- Excellent performance.
- Short lifespan, something will typically break between 1-2 years.
- Extended warranty exclude components expected to break before the warranty, for example batteries. Other things aren't likely to break. In other words, the extended warranty is pretty much worthless, don't buy it.
- Razer does not sell any replacement parts, not even batteries, and they require that you send the product back in for service. Also, don't assume that you can find after-market brand components for a Razer, that is often not the case.
- The products are very good while they work. So,
- If you can afford to replace them when they break, and/or can afford to be without it while it gets repaired... by all means buy it, it will beat most competitor products in overall performance and design.
- If you can't afford to replace or be without it for an extended period of time... don't walk, run to a mainstream competitor.
- If you are in a country other than the US, DO NOT buy Razer unless you can treat it as disposable. Besides the cost of shipping for repairs (and possible customs costs - as some countries will charge you import duties for the value of a new one when the used computer returns), the time that it will take to ship, repair, return and clear customs could be as long as 2 months. If that is your situation you are better off avoiding not just Razer but all boutique laptops and stick to high performance models of mainstream brands, so that you can get parts and service for locally.

A product should work AS ADVERTISED. I had driver issues since day one and have had my unit replaced over 5 times in two years. Difinitrly something wrong there...
I do like their mice though...

The RBP weighs approx 8lbs so it's quite close. As for performance, it cannot even beat its smaller brother, the 14 inch

My touchpad doesn't even work right now. The tactile keys are dead and it not register touch. Every time I plug my orochi in it tells me I need to reboot. Keys keep repeating on their own indefinitely.

Keep in mind... I have had it replaced more than 3 times. My original replacement was due to stuck key issues which seem to be driver issues then that one failed due to ram failure. The next replacement had a faulty Nvidia card then we are on to these. And even the replacements before these had to be serviced multiple times for various issues...
I even had screws falling out of my laptop - which is also now happening to my current replacement (which is now out of warranty) and had to have them send me extra screws lol.... Which meant breaking the seals to tighten them and to install the new ones which had no seals...

It is not that I do not like the RBP. In fact i love it! It is an ingenious idea but it could have been implemented better. I do not think that razer knew how much $$$ would be required to maintain the SBUI Software and they dug themselves into a hole. Recently the SBUI Forums have disappeared leading me to think they will eventually retire the blade pro in the not so far future. Maybe they will redo it with a proprietary OS for the touchpad. The laptop is solid and feels great, its just that there are HUGE software bugs and a few cheap internal components that do it in... Like the Transcend RAM.

2016 is coming, any news about the upcoming razer blade laptops? I believe the 2015 version of the blade was shown in CES last January, we should have at least leaks about the new version.

Hi guys,
I have just bought the NORDIC 256 GB Blade 14 2015. And i love it! But, i would like to upgrade the storage to 512 GB to 1TB. Does anybody know if that is possible on the NORDIC version ? -
-
It won't be Thunderbolt. It will be USB 3.1 Type-C.
And probably yes. Eventually, Razer will update their Razer Blade and Blade Pro to the Intel Skylake platform. And that update will most likely provide support for features that you see in something like a Aorus X3 Plus v5. Support for Intel Skylake CPUs, DDR4 RAM, USB 3.1 Type-C, and M.2 NVMe SSD drives.
Getting a laptop to support a USB Type-C eGPU dock is a different story. We don't have any USB Type-C eGPU docks yet, so we don't know what the requirements will be on the laptop side to support a particular eGPU dock. Razer's CEO said that the dock that is coming with the Blade Stealth *should* be non-proprietary. But that doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work with every laptop out there that simply has the right physical port. We just don't know until we get these products out there first for people to test.
And if you're looking for a decent base-gaming laptop that also has support for an eGPU, check out the Alienware 13, Alienware 15, and MSI GS40 Phantom. Those are all 13"-15" laptops that run a GeForce 960M or 970M, and also supports their company's flavor of eGPU dock. -
Any update on the Razer Blade laptops refresh for 2016?
I am interested in the Full HD model for gaming.
Also Kent no point in Alienware/Aorus/MSI as they have humongous power supplies which make it a pain to lug them around when travelling
