I would be very careful with undervolting this thing. An unintended side effect is what you just mentioned. The fans, which likely turn on and off together and not independently, could be coming on in less force due to the reduced temp reading from the CPU. This was likely part of the engineering of the device - it can be seen on many other laptops of this design. As a result, you have fans that are less prone to come on because the CPU is not as hot, but in the meantime the GPU may be overheating. Fan tables are srs bsnss on a unit that has a normal operating temp between 90-100 degrees C.

The temps on these devices are so close to the edge that even slight adjustments to individual systems could have disastrous effects on the overall operating behavior.

This may or may not be the case, but I would be mighty careful. This thing is teetering on the edge when it's being used for anything other than normal "desktop" work and browsing, and it's not a recipe I'd feel very comfortable playing with.

I doubt that's the case especially with the GPU since I have never seen it go over 85c even after hours of gaming, and those are just the graphic intensive games . Games like MG:Revengence don't even top 78c at the highest settings.
Trust me I've been closely monitoring temps while gaming for about the last 2 weeks and nothing unusual has happened at all (and I mean absolutely nothing, runs like it was at stock settings just with lower temps ) to me anyway. I don't see any downside to cooler running hardware but of course everyone is responsible for there own actions.
    I'm just reporting my results.

If it stays at 89C, is the CPU throttling though? It may keep dropping CPU speed until it stops increasing temps and/or exceeding the TDP.

I just got my replacement Blade from the Micro Store yesterday and played some BF3 today at ultra 1080p settings. The CPU temp average on Intel XTU was 90c with a max of 99c (max usage of 79%). The GPU average was about 80c and max of 86c. Cant remember if my first blade that had cricket noises ran this hot, but man that's a toasty CPU. Maybe thermal paste has to set in? Anyone else able to report CPU/GPU temps with bf3 at full ultra settings 1080p?

Did you try under volting with XTU? It did wonders for my RAZER.

Is this done by adjusting Dynamic CPU Voltage Offset? How far down did you adjust, and did it effect stability at all?

Yes and I reduced by 85mV but every CPU is different start low and adjust accordingly.
    It's stable like stock voltages.

Besides lowering the CPU and GPU temperatures, did lowering the CPU voltage have any affect on battery life?

Do you guys alter the Processor cache voltage and the processor graphics voltage offsets? One of these makes my laptop shutdown abruptly when I return from standby sometimes.

Sorry for the necromancy - what are you guys using to monitor GPU temps? I'm looking into undervolting now. Started at -50 mV, and so far looks like i dropped 2-4 degC. Wanted to look at my GPU temps too, to see if there's any effect on that during gaming use.
