RB 2016 review out on laptopmag

It isn't the best review, but it does have some important information there. Battery life seems ok; better than 2015 at 5:42. However, it seems to have the exact same keyboard as the stealth.

 

I'm wondering if that 1.1mm key travel the reviewer cited is accurate... seems like a real step backwards if so.

 

Yeah I think you're right. Laptopmag has done some pretty shoddy reviews and this is one of them

 

I don't see anything spectacular over the 2015 version at this point. You can get a used 2015 these days for under 1500 so it would be hard to justify the price difference.

 

Unless you want to use the core.

The core with the new GTX 1080 sounds like an interesting combination

 

Some comments on the review have called it out for being a sponsored review and I believe it.

 

As I was saying- I think she's a bad reviewer in general and they always read full of product placements. I'm not sure if she always does sponsored reviews, or just the poor quality/deptch looks like sponsorship.

 

Laptopmag is more for the technical not so inclined people I suspect. Not a lot of technical data. Just an overall feeling of a product. Not very critical in general.

NBC is one of the biggest review sites out there and fairly technical. But After trying multiple GIgabyte laptops they reviewed as good choices and well built while not being that for me with daily usage made me doubt even them.

 

Did you see NBC's pink macbook review? All that data and tests and then WHAT THE **** 91%?!?! Using which parallel universe's math were they calculating that average?

 

Lol the 2016 Blade Delayed thread on Razer Insider forums is such a circus.

 

I've noticed that the forums are barely loading these days. Wonder if they're limiting the traffic or something. I've been greatly enjoying my reading of those threads. I feel a little bit happy inside everytime someone's order gets cancelled for no reason, because I'm a terrible person.

 

Its hilarious because the different types of posters are all becoming apparent in that thread:

1) New user to the forum questioning the delay
2) Really angry customer venting about any and everything
3) That one guy who insists the delay is so that they can secretly put Pascal in
4) The diligent Razer apologist
5) One or two moderators who really have no information or control of the situation

 

After it releases and starts shipping everyone will forget all about it and move on to the next thing to be irrationally enraged about.

Yup, this is exactly it. Too bad they deleted #4. I enjoyed watching the thread get locked every week and seeing a bunch of posts get deleted with replies that make zero sense.
