I tried searching for this answer but couldn't find anything related to this question.
When I play Total War: Rome II, the resolution is locked at 3200x1800. If I try to reduce the resolution to 1600x900 I get a massive black border around a small window, it's almost hilarious. Is there anyway I can reduce the resolution to just 1600x900 at full screen? Is there anyway I can lock that resolution to all my games?
Thanks all,
Mike

reduce the system resolution first

Thank you! I'll try that after I get home, appreciate the quick response!

Nope, reducing the system resolution only made the game severely pixelated with a lot of screen tearing. I did some additional research and it appears this is simply part and parcel with the 2014 Blade's screen

I really wish they would have put a 1080P screen in the new 14" Razer. This is a big problem. Just Cause 2 won't play without weird workarounds that limit the resolution to 900P.

Wait. You changed the systems resolution to 1920x1080, then set the in game resolution to 1920x1080 and you still have the black box?
To fix the screen tearing, turn on vertical sync. -
No, there wasn't a black box after I changed the system resolution. However the images were very blurry, almost pixelated.

Trials Fusion gives me the black box even when I change the system resolution to 1080p and the game resolution. This is a real problem for newer games that don't run well at native resolution. I even tried setting the DPI at 100%. If anyone has a workaround that would be a huge help.

Skyrim is another one that doesn't play well with the high resolution on the Blade 2014, I have a Level Up message that's stuck on the bottom right of the screen. It only goes away if I reduce the resolution to 1920-1080, but if I do that the images get all pixelated like Rome II.
Argh, so frustrating. It's like the Blade 2014's screen is too far ahead of it's time.John566 likes this. -
I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online and its buttery smooth at max res/ultra settings. I did try it at 1080p and it does seem a little pixilated then I was expecting. Its a shame some games didn't take scaling into mind.

I noticed that too, however you can run one step up from 1080, its something like 2048x1150 (I think its still 16:9). It's not much but hey its a few more pixels than 1080. Like 1080 its not an even multiple like 1600x900 is so you it will be slightly blurry.

I think the biggest issue for me is how small text is at 3800x1800, it's literally illegible for my eyes, I have to hold the screen up to my face to read the text on Rome II.
