Good news to those interested. I have successfully installed an intel 7260ac WiFi Card in my Razer Blade! Here is the steps I took.
I downloaded, but did not run the intel drivers for the 7260, the killer drivers for the killer 1202 (for backup reasons), and Killer Cleaner.
I then uninstalled the Killer software/drivers.
Restarted
I then ran Killer Cleaner
shut down
Removed back panel from Razer Blade and physically installed intel 7260
Powered up, installed the intel drivers from my download folder
Instantly, my wifi was back up. Easy as cake.
I ran a speedtest before I began all of this. I primarily used my Razer Blade in the basement in my house. I had 4 bars on my wifi with 22mbps download, 4.1 mbps upload. (This is what it has always been, on my desk)
After I got everything done, I ran another speedtest. I now have 5 bars on my wifi with 32mbps download, and 5mbps upload. (Same exact spot my on my desk)
** These are my actual internet speeds, NOT my mbps link speeds between my router and laptop. **
Neither of these speedtests are on 5ghz. Both are ran on 2.4 ghz regular N.
UPDATE: Everything on 5ghz works great as well. I have played a couple games. One to note is League of Legends. I used to have around 80ms ping, with intermittent lag spikes here and there. I now have 72ms ping, and played a few rounds without a single lag spike!
** Link speeds between my Blade and Modem. 144mbps on 2.4ghz/300mbps on 5ghz **
The intel card seems much more reliable and stable than the killer card so far. Especially at longer distances.
I will update more when I get my actual AC router! Right now I am using a newer Motorola Gateway which is a Cable Modem with built in Wireless N. (Kind of crappy built in wifi)
Here are some links!
intel 7260ac wifi card. Only $30.99
Newegg.com - Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC, dual-band, 2x2 Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth 4.0 Mini PCI Express combo Adapter - 867 Mbps+300Mbps - Internal - Wireless Adapters
Drivers I used from intel
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/De...0&DownloadType=Software+Applications&lang=eng
(I used (wireless_16.1.5_De64.exe) )
All said and done, I am paying for Charter Internet which is labeled at 30mbps download 5mbps upload internet service. I am getting 32mbps download and 5mbps upload over wifi, and 36mbps download and 5mbps upload when directly connected to my modem. Not to bad if I say so myself.

Update: Bluetooth seems to work fine as well. I am going to try out 5ghz later today, as well as a few other tests. I am going to make sure everything is working as expected and I will update all of my findings. So far everything is great!
On a side note, my previous laptop had the same Killer card as the Blade. I had the same issues with that as well. I am glad to be rid of the Killer card and it's issues. -
Grats! I too am much happier with my Intel card (knock on wood)
-
What Intel card are you using?
-
Intel 6235
-
Can you do me a favor? Right click on the wireless symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the screen by the clock. Select "open network and sharing". Then click on your network next to "connections". What is your "speed". Does it fluctuate? Thanks!
-
I assume you're seeing some odd fluctuations? I'm thinking about installing that same Intel AC wireless card since I have the new Airport Extreme base station. Just want to be sure nobody is running into odd problems!
-
Yes, kind of. It pretty much stays at 144mbps link speed. However, when I monitor the speed, it drops to 100 periodically. I have even seen it go down to 54. But, in games my connection is flawless. So whatever is happening, it is unnoticeable. My Killer card did this same thing, except I would get lag spikes with the killer card. I think it may be my crappy Motorola Modems built in wifi. Will update more later.
Overall, everything is great. The 7260 appears to be a much better card than the Killer in my opinion. Also, I am pretty sure the 7260 is the best notebook wifi card out right now. -
I just got myself a new clevo rig, but I selected the Killer Network 1103, and now reviewing the Intel 7260, I have second thoughts. On what basis do you say its better and probably the best WiFi on the market right now for notebooks? Links or something would be appreciated.
-
so judging from the speeds, is it worth it to change the card?
I have been having issues with the killer card where it drops connection completely after some time. it's kinda irritating :/ especially when gaming.
i'm contemplating getting the asus rt-n68ac with the intel ac 7260. -
Well considering the intel 7260ac is about the only AC wifi card out right now, that is what I base my opinion on it being the best wifi card out right now. I very recently got a sweet Asus AC router. Constant stable speeds at 867mbps. Lag free everything! Can stream while gaming on my Blade like nothing.
-
that sounds great! i might just upgrade my router and my card during the black friday deals
-
Doh! Just realized my Asus router is AC also, now I must look into trying this as well.
-
just to check, any new updates to this? i've been reading reviews of the Intel AC 7260 disconnecting randomly as well
-
I have had no issues with mine at all. I am on my Blade the majority of the day as well. Works great. No complaints.
-
that is great! i got mine over the weekend. just waiting for it to be delivered
-
installed the 7260 card to my blade today. as simple as it sounded in the first post.
btw, my speeds fluctuates quite a bit as well. ranging from 234 mbps to 58.5 mbps in my room. it only hits 866.7 mbps when i'm right in front of the router. compared to the killer card, i get a lower ping, but a slower speed clocked on speedtest. i'm on the latest intel driver -
i have reverted back to 16.1.5 after getting some lag spikes in 16.6.0. it's looking promising with a much lower ping and better latency checks
-
Is there any disadvantage to getting the 7260 vs the 6235? I won't be getting an AC router anytime soon, and the cost is pretty much the same.
-
Nice!
Can you run a wifi speed test with the new AC router?
I have the same exact cable provider and get the same speeds you did before switching routers but I always wondered if a AC router would increase speeds . Thanks! -
Misread delete post

I can confirm that the AC 7260 works perfectly in the 2013 Blade 14.
Now waiting for my AC68U (AC1900) router to arrive and get this thing properly tested! -
My Blade 2014 works great with an Asus RT-N66U. Solid 300mbit
-
I've had problems getting a solid fast connection with both the Edge when I put the 7260 in it and now my new blade. Have any ideas that I can try? I'm thinking new drivers but I don't want to cause more issues than I'm trying to fix. Bluetooth works great so I don't want that messed up.
I don't really want to mess with my router, it connected at a solid 300mbps with my 2013 blade when I had it. I loved that killer card that everyone else seems to hate lol. -
Just got 10.9.3 dmg image downloaded, I will try to burn it to my flash drive with clover and see.

One thing I did was lock my channel.. I'll be home late tonight I'll post a screenshot of my settings soon. I'll edit this post with it.
EDIT: I was going to tell you how great it was working, says I have 300mbit connection. But my bandwidth is really low to my NAS. I'll see if I can fix it.
EDIT2: OK.. I actually change the control channel back to Auto and I have good throughput now. It's interesting because on my Sammy Gamer 7 if I didn't set the control channel to 36 my throughput was low. Go figure.. My Sammy is using a 6235 Intel card.. shrugAttached Files:
