    Undervolt to reduce heat?

    Coming from the W230ST forum, i`ve heard a lot about how Intel XTU can be used to undervolt the cpu where the majority of the heat is from, just wondering does the razer blade 14inch bios allow undervolting?, thanks

    Why would you need to? The Razer Blade 14" has the best cooling solution in the world for a laptop this thin. No overheating, no throttling even during sustained gaming.

    Lower heat is never a bad thing even when it's not needed, can it be done?

    While lower heat is never a bad thing, even if you undervolt the components the fans still kick on when the computer gets hot. IE it might run colder idle, but if you do anything that uses the cpu even when undervolted i'd still expect it to get just as hot, just not as quickly.

    undervolting a gpu that hits 74 max, is a terrible idea....

    Mine hits 84C when playing bf4.

    Any other game its in the 70's

    But even at 84, it's still very safe temps as far as Kepler goes. Undervolting can probably result in crashes being that this card already operates at a very low power to begin with. I'm sure BF4 loads that card 100% pretty much all the time that's why the heat....

    It also loads the cpu 100% too and they do share the chassis for cooling so i can see why it would load higher.

    The fans kick in at 85C cool it to 82C then rinse and repeat every 5 minutes.

    I don't believe the heat is a problem on the Razer Blade 14 for the internals, but it's definitely a problem for the user. I played Borderlands 2 for about 15 min today and my RB14 was smokin hot on the outside. So hot I couldn't really continue playing on the laptop keyboard because I would start to burn my hands. This is a shame because even with the lackluster screen this is a beast of a machine with great battery life and excellent gaming ability. But carrying around an external keyboard (or keypad) defeats the whole mobility aspect of having the laptop.

    Hmph, this is odd, sure it is unbearable by the power button, but where my hand sits its a'ok. Warm sure, but i don't even sweat where i relax my palm.
