    I can't get my webcam to open. If I go to devices I can find it and verify it is working, but can't get it to open.

    Try using a program like Skype or the windows 8 camera app from the start screen.

    I wasn't thinking about Win 8 being a Metro OS. I forgot about the camera in the Metro part. I knew it was working due to Skype, I just forgot that I had to go to a camera app instead of a program.

    When not in use? Not that I've ever noticed. It's green when in use though.

    I meant some people have reported while the camera is on and there is florecent light behind it the images sort of flickers redish/green.
