On Thursday, April 10, I ordered a Sager NP8268-S from GenTech, since they had a student discount. I didn't get any updates on my order for a few days, so I sent them an e-mail the following Tuesday (April 15). I received a message right after that showing that my order had just been authorized. In my opinion this should have been done within 24 hours if not immediately. It took Sager about two weeks to build the computer, a bit on the long side but still typical for them. My order was shipped Wednesday, April 30, and arrived Monday, May 5... again not out of the ordinary. The computer arrived in great condition; the screen was a bit washed out (especially in the reds) for what was supposedly a 95% NTSC monitor but I didn't think much of it... besides, I thought, there's no way to check without opening up the computer anyway. Yesterday I found out HWiNFO64 is a thing and checked the specs. Sure enough, it wasn't the AUO B156HW01 V.4 I had ordered but instead was an LG Phillips LP156WF1-TLF3, which has a 72% NTSC gamut that is slightly blue-shifted. The screen is very crisp after calibrating the gamma and ClearType settings, but it's not the one I ordered. I understand that the screen I ordered has been discontinued, but I could have at least been given some notice rather than being sent a laptop that doesn't have the specs I ordered without any notifications.

2/5 if Gentech was ever notified by Sager about the screen swap, 4/5 otherwise.

So did you send it back for a refund/replacement? Also, have you had an RMA experience with Sager yet?
