I put in the order today, July 13. Beforehand I sent around ten emails to them with various questions. They were quick to respond to all my messages and gave good answers.
How long the laptop spent on each stage (status taken at the end of each day):
Ordered: 7/13/12
Processing: 2 days
Summoning: 2 days
Pending Parts: 3 days
Burn-In and Test: 3 days
Shipped: 1 day
Arrived: 7/25/12

Awesome! Don't forget to add your specs to your sig! You have an ETA yet?
-
i'm curious about what ETA they gave you too. I ordered on July 2 with an ETA on July 16. I was told there was no delays on of the parts on my order (particularly the 7970). Turnaround time would be 10 business days. However, it looks like i'm still pending parts...
I asked on thursday what was the holdup with my parts and i was told my allocation of 7970 would be sometime early this week. let's see what happens this week. i know it takes time to build, then theres a 3 day burn-in.. and finally time for shipping. i really hope i'm not looking at the end of this month.
my whole experience with trying to get a clevo since june 5 (originally ordered at xoticpc) has been less than satisfying thus far... we'll see... -
Totally understand, we're trying to keep the cards in stock the best we can =) Rest assured we are getting these out as fast as we can -
I am third in line for the 7970 due early this week
-
oh you've been waiting too. i see. i just was a bit disappointed because when i ordered, i specifically asked about the 7970s availability at mythlogic and i was told they were in stock and ready to be installed. It's not a huge deal, but it would have been nice if a more realistic timeline was relayed.
-
The delay is almost universal. I heard from malibal that my 7970m is supposed ot be in this weeks shipment as well, and i have been talking to Mythlogic about some of the problems i've had with them, and it seems Myth is much more open about issues. Downside is, they are in Michigan and the wolverines suck (O-H, I-O).
-
-
I was told the average time was ten days. Right now my status is Summoning.
-
did you order the 7970? if so then welcome to the queue
-
-
Daaaaaang...
-
yea the 10 day turnaround no waits on any parts thing to "welcome to the queue" is what i'm talking about. i just wish at least one reseller/builder was more honest upfront with forthcoming inventory time-frames. i am being more anal than i normally would be about this since at the end of this month i'm leaving on a business trip for a while (for a month probably) and i don't want my laptop to chill there rain or shine for that sort of time.
i realize that mythlogic and everyone are doing their best to crank these babies out and i'm still looking forward to tinkering with my machine... just... like my grandaddy always said: honesty is the best policy.
true story -
Well my status on Mythlogic says Summoning, so I won't really know how exact the turnaround is until I get closer to 10 days after I ordered it.
-
my summoning took ~2/3 days from what i can rmb
not really sure thou, its been quite some time ago lol
-
Not including the day I ordered it, it has spent two days processing, two days summoning, and one day pending parts.
-
Hey guys, looks like the shipment of 7970s from clevo are coming in for NEXT tuesday (at least for my batch). This time, I really hope so! Third time is a charm yah? hah I was told that the delay is indeed for 7970s and not for 680s so i'm guessing ur cool poketape.
-
mine came ytd
btw i doubt myth is getting the 7970m shipment from clevo
-
My laptop has now skipped ahead to Burn-In and Test, so it looks like they'll definitely meet the ten day ETA.
-
Sweeeeet, that's gonna be one sick laptop! Congrats. Hopefully it'll ship Monday for you
-
Ive been in burn in and test phase for 3 days now, so I won't bet on a Monday shipping if I were you
-
If they need an extra day or two to do all the tests to make sure it works right, I'm fine.
-
It now says ready to ship on the eleventh day, that's really good in my opinion.
-
Man... my system ran into some stability issues and myth is trying to solve it
i guess more waiting for me :/
-
for good news, my laptop shipped today! -
I agree with you, Mythlogic catching a problem and dealing with it instead of sending out a somewhat defective laptop is great. Also, mine got shipped today too!
-
The laptop arrived today. The packaging was really well-done. It was in a box inside a box inside a box packed with those little styrofoam pellets. The laptop booted up very quickly (SSD is awesome) and came with adobe and some other things pre-installed. I haven't had much chance to use it, but I at least know I can't hear it at all when it's idle or I'm going through the control panel and other Windows things.
-
Glad your happy with it and the quality is as expected. I've got a 170em on the way also from Mythlogic. I guess you see we all got ordered early enough to miss the back to school sale ...

Well congrats on getting your systembtw from what you said, do you mean that the fan control for our pollux is better than the ones made by sager's?
-
how is that matte screen? -
-
Don't worry, I'll keep posting. The laptop's fan noise while playing a game is audible, but not distracting. If you have your speakers on then the laptop's fan noise should be easily covered. I really don't see what the complaint about the speakers was, to me the speakers work fine. I wanted the first game I played to be multiplayer and wanted to get in-game as soon as possible, so I ended up using my brand-new 680m to play the Napoleonic expansion to Mount and Blade: Warband (one of the oldest games in my steam library). I had no problems playing on the highest settings, something which couldn't be said about my old laptop.
-
I also want to mention that the laptop itself looks really nice. In my opinion getting the laptop custom painted isn't worth it because of how nice it looks by default. The pictures I've seen online really don't do it justice.
-
What branding do you get as default? If any?
And congratulations, seems like it didn't take too long -
I didn't request any custom painting or branding. It came with Mythlogic written in all caps and silver lettering on the laptop cover. It's not written in the middle of the laptop cover, more towards a corner. I like the branding a lot because it's very simple and looks professional.
-
I should mention the two things that bug me right now but probably won't in the future. If you have a tendency to rest your arms on the laptop as you type, you might be a little annoyed by the laptop's sharp edge. My old laptop's edge was curved and was fine to leave my arms on, so this change will take a bit getting used to. The second thing is the keyboard's button placement. Because the laptop has moved the spacebar slightly to the left because of it's key placement, I sometimes hit the slash key instead of the spacebar. Once again this problem isn't that big of a deal and I'll just have to get used to it.
-
Time to add some more info about the laptop. I've gotten used to the keyboard and haven't found any problems with it. Some people have complained of ghosting with certain key combos but it hasn't affected me at all. For some reason Firefox freezes up on the new laptop (not sure what the reason is) so I've switched to Google Chrome, which doesn't have any problems. I've had no problem with Optimus and it seems like all of my games have used the 680 by default. I like the Killer Wireless program and its easy-to-use prioritization function, however I feel bad that I can't use it to its full potential due to my current internet plan. I have noticed that it can find networks a lot farther away than my old laptop's wireless card, so I can confirm that it is as strong in that respect as advertised.

I feel bad about having to switch because I've been loyal to Firefox for so long.
-
Ive been a Firefox and even Netscape fan forever.. about 4 months ago I started using chrome and tend to like it more now too. I guess when I get my new laptop Ill just use chrome and not even bother with anything else for a bit.
-
It appears the issues with Mac and windows version of Firefox 14.0.1. In Linux I have no issues with stuttering. I'll have to find some official documentation to support my findings.

Some Mythlogic praise concerning this situation. In my attempt to fix the Firefox problem, I tried replacing the wireless card driver, making the card unrecognizable. When I restored the system, the Bigfoot Wireless Management program looked all glitchy so I sent an email to Mythlogic. The response time was very quick and in the end the program went back to normal.
-
but too many crashes too many weird apps
but hell, now Chrome is having a hard time dealing with all these apps.. omg -
Has it been? So far I've been using Chrome and it's been fine. The one thing that bugs me is when something on my computer wants me to install a browser add-on like the fingerprint password saving add-on and I have to download and drag it to the Chrome folder manually.
-
Has anybody had any problems with the Killer Wireless-N 1103? For some reason it loses connection to the network and I have to troubleshoot it which causes Windows to reset it.
-
i have a 1103 in my machine and i think it's amazing. i hvaent had any issues with loss of connection yet. signals that were previously weak are really strong now.
-
Figured out it was the router's fault, not the card.
