    Hello Everyone,

I recently ordered a high end EVOC (Clevo) 870KM1-G from HIDEvolution and I figured I would do a real-time review of the ordering process from beginning to end. I decided on the 870KM1-G for a couple of reasons:

1 - I like to be on the bleeding edge.

2 - I own an aerial imaging (drone) company on the side and I wanted to be able to edit videos in the field to increase my turn around time.

3 - I am a paramedic and run a University paramedic program and I want to start using VR for my students.

Here is what the order included:

    Clevo K870KM-1G

    LCD Panel

    17.3" 3K QHD (2560x1440) AUO 120Hz - 5ms - LED Matte Type Display - w/ nVIDIA® G-SYNC

    Video Card

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5 X 200W - NVIDIA G-Sync

    Processor

Intel Core i7-7700K Quad Core Processor, 4.2 GHz (HIDevolution Overclocked to 4.7GHz) - GUARANTEED Performance (Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra includ

    Memory

    32GB (2 x 16GB) G.SKILL Ripjaws Series Dual Channel DDR4/2800MHz

M.2 SSD Slot 1 (supports PCIe or SATA)

    Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 3D-VNAND SSD

Total Cost was just over $4,000

Here is the timeline of my order, I will update it as things progress.

Friday, May 26th, 2017 - This was the last day of EMS Week in the United States - A week that recognizes those of us who dedicate our lives to working on an ambulance. I have been considering a high-end system for some time and I emailed HIDEvolution to see if they offer any discounts for paramedics.

Sunday May 28th, 2017 - Received an email from Donald Stratton (interesting that he answered my email on Sunday... AND during a holiday weekend. He let me know that they do not offer a discount for paramedics... Oh well, EMS is always the forgotten public service until we are needed. We traded a couple of emails regarding the laser engraving service that they offer. He was able to offer me a 0.75% discount for being a student... and yes, that is 3/4 of a percent.

Monday May 29th, 2017– Called customer service to inquire about the $50 rush processing service (1-5 business day build and processing on an in stock system (laptop, desktop, or all in one), limited to parts availability.) to see if all of my selected components were in stock. I work as a paramedic week on / week off near Denali National Park and I need to get the computer in by next week so I can bring it with me. I received an email from Donald stating that “everything is currently in stock, but things move quickly so I can’t guarantee anything until you actually place the order”.

Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 (3:26 PM) – Placed the order online

(3:46 PM) – Received an email that they needed to verify numbers from my credit card. Replied immediately.

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 (11:14 am) – Order Status updated to “Payment Complete”

    Thursday, June 1st , 2017 (08:54 am) – Order Status Updated to “Pre-Production”.

Friday and Saturday– No updates. Disappointed since I paid for the "Rush Processing". I guess I will see if they get it done within the 5 day limit Monday.
