So after my, well let's see, challenging experience with Scan UK, I decided to order the KM1 from good people over at Obsidian PC. @John@OBSIDIAN-PC is a legend, and had helped me out with tuning my P775DM3 even though I bought it from a different reseller. And the entire community appreciates all his (and his colleagues') efforts for the Obsidian App.
I was considering three different systems,
1. AW13 plus a mini ITX
2. MSI 16L (from USA)
3. KM1
First option was most expensive one, not to mention had BGA (!) involved in the process. Anyway I discounted it soon enough as the price of AW13, even after my student discount, was in the vicinity of £2000. Plus another £2000 for a decent ITX system. So it came down to MSI and KM1. MSI was, and is, a nice option but I soon realised that I wanted a bigger screen for my primary workstation. Now that KM1 was the choice, it was time to decide on a reseller.
I talked to three different resellers, and all of them were thoroughly professional but I knew from the beginning that I will go with Obsidian in the end. They offered so many value added services for free, are based in Europe, and all in all have the most metal logo of all Clevo resellers![]()
Apparently John and his crew are being bombarded with new orders (what's with being one of the best resellers around and all that!) so I won't be getting my system before the last week of April. Just steeling myself for the wait now.

I like your signature man, where did you stole it from?
Thank you for your order, and yes yesterday our order queue was indeed above 20units... this. is. insane. and for the first time we had to work on Saturdays (yeah no dirt bike for me)...
Please be patient with us, we will try to increase our team ASAP! -
That signature, I whipped it up myself
Well I know I will get a solid machine whenever you guys finish building it so I will try to just soldier through the wait.
Well the pace at which you are getting new orders, you are going to need to expand a lot
-
Glad to hear you got through the BS with scam
I also chose Obsidian-pc for my new p775.
All I'm gonna say just wait till you get it!!!
What spec have you ordered? ( little bit jealous, vapour chamber and all that - mine is lighter tho haha)

Yes, I got through Scan experience relatively unharmed (other than few days of high blood pressure).
I am not sure if I'd be getting the vapour chamber based cooling as Obsidian doesn't have it yet. @John@OBSIDIAN-PC told me to wait for them to assemble the whole thing, and after that if feel like temperatures aren't there yet and I still need a vapour chamber, I can wait a bit longer for it.kamilr likes this. -
Yea, it has something to do a delayed 120Hz screen and a P650HS-G (and probably even other models?)... also I might also be involved too
. All I can say is, the day I ordered mine (and I was fast imho), the backlog was already ~15days XD

"Backlog" is never 15 days, we work with queues.
A queue is the amount of orders in "processing", so it represents the amount of units our staff needs to build at any given moment.
Even if you assemble 10 units a day, if you get 11 orders in that day the queue will go up +1 and not down...
The order queue is the type of thing that takes away my sleep at night. For our team size having a queue above 20 is scary, specially when we can´t make it go down.
But is now totally under control (almost)!! -
Good news for me!

Not sure if it´s good news for you, remember that in countries like Spain and Portugal, we´re getting some massive days off, usually Thursday, Friday, and then Monday everything is closed, so even if we work, there´s no shipping companies open.
But we will do our best! -
Oh I completely understand. I knew it is going to take a bit longer than usual with Easter around the corner. No worries on that front mate.
I am happy to wait, even though it is the worst part of the process
I am hoping you will be able to ship it by 21st April.

So just a little update. I am expecting the laptop to be shipped by 26/04, so at least another week and a half to go before I receive the machine. . It is going to be a bit of a wait. It is mostly my fault, well actually my bank's fault for having numpty policies but John & Crew have been most accommodating and I don't have anything but praise for these guys.
It is almost shocking that they are running such a great operation with just five people! @aziraphaleUK if you have managed to squeeze a refund out of our mutual friends in Bolton, then I cannot recommend @John@OBSIDIAN-PC highly enough for your next Clevo machine. -
Getting mine either on Thursday or Friday. Hopefully Thursday, but we'll see
Quite excited to receive the machine. I am really tired of working with 13' screen of my Macbook.Mr. Fox, madeinholt and bloodhawk like this. -
It is being shipped today! And I saw some of their test results, which look very encouraging. Temperatures are much better compared with the P775 I had
I am quite looking forward to receiving it tomorrow..and quite excited about it!Mr. Fox likes this. -

Yes! We have take off!
I also had a chat with Ricardo, he was really helpful. Thanks for sorting the shipping, I am quite looking forward to it
I will probably make a video of the machine with all the default applications it comes with.

So I received my machine earlier today.
This thing is bloody brilliant. It has certainly got more heft to it compared to P775 chassis but that is to be expected and in some way, an advantage as it helps with performance. I have been doing bits and bobs and will really put it through its paces tomorrow.
About Obsidian, these guys are just the best resellers in my part of the world. I have been in touch with John and Ricardo through out the ordering process and they have been patient and so very helpful. Even today, I had bit of an issue and Ricardo called me over Skype and walked me through. So if you are in Europe, and looking for a new laptop, contact Obsidian.John@OBSIDIAN-PC, TomJGX and madeinholt like this. -
