So I bought a Sager np8278-s laptop from Xotic PC on 18th August and received it on the 4th September(got extra copper cooling pipes installed).

For a machine that costs 1600$ it was obvious that I did a lot of research before buying, the specs came out to be perfect and it had everything I needed. Just to make sure that it would not have any issues later on especially in the cooling department, I got the IC Diamond thermal paste and Additional copper cooling for extra bucks from Xotic PC.

When I received the laptop, it was working fine as expected, then I started having some issues, first the Wifi, the connectivity would drop all of a sudden and the connection was never stable, i looked it up on the internet and found that its a common issue on Intel cards, so I just ignored the issue and started using Ethernet whenever possible. Then I started noticing that the fan was making a lot of noise even when I was just browsing the internet, so I decided to check the temperatures, to my surprise the temperatures for the laptop which was switched on just 2 mins ago were very high specifically the CPU was above 50 all cores and similar temp for GC. PCH Diode was in the high 80s. The laptop is kept at a cool place with good ventilation. I kept wondering if the Copper cooling and thermal paste were not there what would have been the temp then.

I followed it up with a XoticPC technician and was told that the temperatures were normal, I never escalated the issue since I never had a shutdown on the machine.

Then one day out of the blue, the machine turned off, I switched it back on and it worked fine so I still didn't contact customer care.

Then finally today, the laptop gave in, it was turning on and then turning off by itself just after a second without displaying anything. I tried to reconnect AC power, removed the battery and everything but it didn't work. I contacted Sager support and explained the issue to them and was told that It could be a motherboard issue and I should contact XoticPC and get a RMA done.

So I have submitted a request for a replacement for the laptop, today is exactly the 30th day the laptop was shipped.

I didn't wanna get into the hassles of shipping the Laptop and then waiting for the repairs on minor issues I was facing earlier thus I didn't report them.

I am regretting my decision of buying a Sager laptop, I could have paid a little more and got an Alienware 17 with lower specs but atleast the build of Dell and support would have been worth it.

I have heard good things about XoticPC's customer support, and I am waiting to see how they handle this issue.

Sorry for making it very long long, but please understand my frustration.

Sorry to hear of the troubles! I don't know your order number or anything but I've forwarded this post to the service manager to have him verify the request has been received. They'll need to wait for an RMA number from Sager to get forwarded onto you but I'm sure we'll get you taken care of. As you can see from here on the forums this is the exception rather than the rule, not something typically experienced.

UPDATE: Just touched base with our service team (I stalked down your order number), Sager got us the RMA details late yesterday so we're doing some paperwork on our side and you should be getting updated that information later today.

Not a worry, you don't want to be posting those details on the forums anyways.
