I purchased the Sager NP9170 on May 31st and I'll be receiving it this Friday. A review of the machine will follow; however, that has nothing to do with the reseller since I opted for no services that would require shipping to them from Sager.

Xotic PC has been nothing short of professional, the entire time I've dealt with them. Which given the must-be horrendous nature of getting through this 7970M fiasco, that must take some control and finesse. So, for that I applaud them.

I have two complaints, which I give to them so that they might consider rethinking the way they do this in the future, and to the public, so that if these are bigger issues for you, you make the right choice for you.

    1. I don't feel like they were ever direct with me. Every time we've inquired about the issue of machines shipping outside the order in which orders should have been received, I was referred to Justin's posts, which doesn't directly answer the question.

Even in emails with my sales representative, when presented with an email for multiple questions/concerns, I rarely received a reply that specifically addressed all of my concerns, leaving the need for further emails.

Now, this was most likely due to the chaos of this whole situation, and I know everyone over there is working overtime, so I can forgive them for that. Hopefully, the next time I get the opportunity to do business with them, it will be on normal terms, so that I get an opportunity to see them at there finest.

    2. Everything felt so canned. Having been assigned a sales representative who I could communicate with directly, who was handling my specific needs, I didn't expect this. Once again this may have been due to the chaotic 7970M preorder situation.

The other thing I seem to have noticed is that there finger is far from the pulse, in terms of what is actually going on at Sager. I sent an email, received replies, and surfed the forums all day yesterday, being told that there was no indication my order was anywhere close to shipping, only to login to my email today and find that it went into Status 4 today, and shipped yesterday.

Per speaking with representatives with Xotic PC, I figured I was at the end of my 5-12 processing time either today or tomorrow, so by my calculations, the shipping was imminent. However, they replied with the possible and looming 8-16 day processing time possibility and no information as to where the order was.

It just sounds to me like Sager keeps in in the dark, moreso than they want to admit, and maybe they do this to ALL resellers.

OVERALL: This process took exactly as much time as they said it would, in there generic time frame, and people who placed there orders after mine by a couple weeks shipped before me, which is the only thing that leaves a sour taste in my mouth with SAGER. As far as the reseller, I will be doing business with them again, in the future.

Thanks for your review and kind words :) As some of you may know we were speaking of thousands of orders in the queue and with that amount of orders there understandingly was a bit of chaos. Sager has a direct link into our order database and as do we with our orders there. Although some orders may be in phase 2 for several days without update this is the general status of it being in the production and awaiting a technician to finalize and QA. Phase 2 can lead to Phase 4 quickly depending on the build process. There is only so much info we can provide which is why we try to keep our "Phases" inline with where the system is. Unfortunately we are not able to have several different "Phases" for the build process.

We are able to provide only so much information, it is normal for our staff to give that general response as that is the current status or Phase it is in. Although it may sound as if we are not being direct or far from the pulse, it is the actual status of the system. With the vast amount of system being caught up on this is how back orders are going through and unfortunately we are unable to provide additional "Phases" for the build process. The main focus was quality output.

I am sure you will enjoy the system once it arrives :)
