I just received my order of a Sager np8173-s from Xotic PC. As far as receiving the package everything went as expected.
My problems started when I turned the computer on. I ordered with 6820HK CPU, and bios says it has 6700HQ. I also ordered with 500GB Samsung evo, bios says I have the 256GB SanDisk, I'm assuming its the X400. I also ordered with windows 10 pro, but there doesn't appear to be an OS installed, hence why I just have info from the bios so far.
I sent them a message, and assume I will hear back tomorrow. I'm currently downloading windows 10 trial to install and see if everything else functions as it should. If so I don't really mind the different CPU and SSD, as long as I can get a refund for the price difference. I'd really prefer not to have to send it back and wait who knows how long to receive a new unit with the proper specs.
I'll update after I get an OS installed and also after I hear back from them.

We can tag a few of them. I'm assuming they just made a mistake (sent the wrong one somehow), I hope they will handle it properly. If they notice here they may send you an email or pm or something. In my experience they've been good.

That is rather unusual. I'm sure they can get it sorted soon enough. Their customer service has been on point lately.

Got windows 10 pro trial installed and all the drivers, it doesn't automatically activate, so def no windows key associated with the hardware. Everything seems normal, temps on CPU seem to idle around 40C, and same for GPU, no idea if that means normal thermal paste or IC Diamond. Now going to install some games and make sure GPU works well.
Haven't heard anything from Xotic, so I imagine I will in the morning, I'll update then. -
Lol honestly, you should probably stop using it if its not your order. Then again, I guess its not your fault so idk if you need to care, as you clearly found 3 major differences already.
Do you like the chassis otherwise? Try out the speakers and DAC. -
Well my thought on testing it is I'm inclined to keep it assuming something can be worked out on the $350 price difference, in which case I'd want to know that it works well. But ya I'm not using it much, I installed 1 game and played for 5 minutes, everything seemed good so put it away awaiting word tomorrow.
I do like the chassis. Fans are louder than I expected on default, but setting a custom profile only raises temps 5C and cuts sound to basically nothing. Speakers seemed decent, I never really use laptop speakers so not really sure overall.hmscott, i_pk_pjers_i and Galm like this. -

I've been more than happy with the customer service in getting this resolved. I know mistakes happen, and I feel they handled everything very quickly and in acceptable manner.
I did end up sending the laptop back, but should receive the correct replacement in a few days or so.TomJGX likes this. -
