I just wanted to share my (mostly) positive experience ordering from mysn. I ordered an XMG U705 (p770zm-g) last week to be shipped to the US. I picked mysn.co.uk mainly because I'm relocating to the UK and wanted a laptop that would still have a warranty after moving. Neil and Jack were very helpful and responsive to all my pre-sales questions, including providing detailed and accurate estimates for production and delivery time. It arrived just over a week after I clicked "buy", which is pretty awesome. Even paying the UK price, it was entirely fair and in line with US prices for a comparable configuration. On the whole, I'm a happy camper.

I say "mostly" positive because of one post-sales hiccup: after receiving the notebook, I noticed that new bios and windows 10 drivers were posted on mysn support page. I happily went to update, but it didn't stick. When I queried tech support, I was assured that the bios was the same for g-sync and non-g-sync machines so I went ahead and forced the update. Afterwards I discovered that my graphics card was no longer recognized by windows or by nvidia's drivers, and that I'd lost the g-sync flag in BIOS. It turns out that rolling back was not an option because NONE of the ec/bios files on the support page support g-sync. By the time I figured this out, it was early afternoon in the US and mysn's office was closed for the weekend. Oh well. I got things working normally using the generic clevo ec/bios files from the big clevo bios thread here, so in the end I just lost a few hours to troubleshooting (much better than having to return the notebook). Altogether, this brief post-sales tech support debacle was a little annoying given the loss of time and I certainly wouldn't have attempted to update the ec/bios files had I not been given incorrect information. But I think they were just misinformed and I'm glad to have gotten things working. I'd certainly be willing to buy from them again.

    Hi kovboi

Thanks for posting your feedback and additional information on here, happy to hear that in general your experience was positive!

I'm sorry that you encountered a problem in updating the BIOS to the Win 10 version. The BIOS information that you were given came straight from Clevo - that 1.05.01 Win 10 BIOS is for both G-SYNC and non G-SYNC systems. We will speak to our R&D department first thing Monday so that they can discuss any issues with Clevo and find out what is going on.
