They offered a free Assassins creed 4 game, I ordered 3/24, (promo ended 3/31) and requested that I get the game. No mention was made that they were out of supplies. I finally got my laptop on 4/17 and no game. I was just told "the games sold out well before they expired." Then why do you leave your promo up? That was one of the XoticPC selling points for me.

There was also some back and forth on the order which should have been straight forward, and their payment system for paypal is kind of iffy for such a large company so that kind of irked me. It took a few business days just to get the thing rolling.

You spend damn near $1300, the whole process takes almost a month (They did have to ship my laptop to NE and back for tax reasons....) and the missing $30 game is enough to turn my experience into an "okay" one to a "disappointed" one.

    Hi davefromca,
Unfortuenatly we did run out of the game codes before you got your computer. We do have some that are still valid and I'll be happy to provide you with one. Can you send me a PM if you're interested in this and I can let you know which we have.

Paypal can be kinda iffy when you use it outside of Ebay. I've used it and Bill me Later on other sites before and there is always the extra step to return to the merchant before the order is submitted properly. But I understand how that can cause confusion. To help avoid this we do list on our payment page during checkout "- If paying with Pay Pal please ensure you click on the "Return To Merchant" button after completing your payment." but still I get where you're coming from.

Not defending Xotic in particular, because I never dealt with them before. But don't you think you are somewhat easily disappointed? Try and order a custom laptop from Lenovo or Dell, and you'll find it can take longer than a month to receive it. That they ran out of AC4 codes without notifying customers is a bit of an issue, however it's only $30. And now that it was brought to their (and our) attention, they are trying to fix it.

The fact you received a fully functional, well assembled, undamaged laptop doesn't count for anything in your book. Instead you went straight for disappointment.

Another issue, do you REALLY think Xotic is "such a large company"? Sager itself is not a large company, let alone Xotic. :D It's a small company dude. There's probably 10 employees trying their best to make customers happy. Nothing wrong with small companies by the way. I work in a 5 people outfit, and I'm quite proud of the product we put out.

    Yep...

I have to say that its really petty to make such a post just because you didn't receive a game code and slamming a reseller for not knowing how to use PayPal? Really? At least they take PayPal, many companies do not.

How is the machine? I didn't realize that the game promo was the most important part of a 1k+ machine buying experience...
