I was planning to buy a gaming laptop from US and get it to me through a friend , in India when he comes back and finally the time had arrived , i never really wanted a 1060 based system ,a 1050ti based system would have been more than enough to me, but thanks to nvidia i had no option but to go for a clevo that was based of 1060 gtx

My budget was overstretched and i had to go for the one which offered me the most for the money i was spending and hence i decided to go with xotic , i have seen other brands being preferred lately( did talk with Donald and hi-devolution offer was reasonable but was a bit too high for me ) , but i have been a long time lurker here to know enough about them to be reliable, their quote was the cheapest and the freebies they offered was a good bonus and @pat@XOTICPC has been extremely helpful with me through out my decision phase
So i ordered the basic NP8151 with added IC cooling, all that is remaining is for the laptop to reach my friend before November 20 and i hope xotic delivers on time

I'm actually quite excited as well as anxious , since this is my first time spending so much with a bit of risk (the obvious risk of warranty, but i had to cut the corners somewhere , this seem to be worth taking )

Will update the thread as it pans out
    Order details
    2-11-2016 ... order placed
    4-11-2016 -- order confirmed, Phase 2 now
    7-11-2016 - shipped
14-11-2016 -- My friend has received the laptop,(also the free headset and android watch) everything is working as intended ,
10-12-2016-- finally i received the laptop,.. Wohooo

quick review of laptop, looks solid ,plastic is ok, everything is running as intended so far

got two freebies a wireless headset (wavez one) and a smartwatch ( some random chinese company , i should have opted for another wavez headset here)

headset seems to be pretty good , smartwatch doesnt look that smart..

    Hey st33l,

Thanks for placing your order with us! I appreciate the kind words, thank you.

I think you'll like the computer once it shows up. And as always, if you have any questions or if there is anything I can help with, you know where to find me. :)

If it makes you feel better the 1050 and 1050 Ti seem disturbingly weak on the notebook side from early rumors with the 1050 losing to even the 965m...

HID is yeah... Not the cheapest option (but they customize more). The best bet is usually to price check XoticPC, LPC-Digital, and Prostar, then make them duel each other for your business :p

You got the TN panel version of the laptop, so there shouldn't be any issues. The 1080p IPS GSync display on the NP8152, while a better display, seems to have awful lightbleed issues that Xotic, Sager etc... Don't talk about.

    Welcome fellow P650 owner!

It's come up before. IPS are more likely to have bleeding compared to TN, yes. Screen bleed is a bit of a different issue. If there is a little noticeable light bleed, for some people it never bothers them, where some people it does. The problem is, there isn't a really defined threshold of what is a typical amount of bleeding on those screens. It's not easy to draw a line and say it has hit a specific point, and it is now defective. Like dead pixels, you can look at a screen and say "yes, there is X dead pixels, this screen needs swapped." Since IPS are more likely to have bleeding, it's harder to judge whats normal, and everyone has a different tolerance for it, it just always seems to be on a case by case basis.

But if it comes up, I've worked with people to see if there is anything we can do for them in those cases. We want our customers to be happy with our systems, and I'll gladly check in to any issues someone may have and try to resolve them.

Yeah I know its a thing on all IPS.

However no other screens have it like this. The P670 is fine and the GL502 is fine, but like half the P650 owners with it said it was horribly noticeable. The owners lounge has screenshots somewhere.

Perhaps if its still easily noticeable on non black backgrounds its too much.

Haha almost there, the package should be picked up by my friend today, though it reached the place by friday ,he was stuck in work place, i will only receive it by around december 8, since im also working far from my home place

Hey Pat , got some queries, since i have to tell him to how to set the laptop up, would you mind ,explaining or give a link if there is one , regarding ,what all steps i should be doing to get it run, i already have a windows key with me which was why i opted against it while placing order, what else should i be on look out for , i saw on the model specific thread , that its better to get the gpu driver from clevo website , anything else specific like that

Pretty sure Xotic should include the drivers, otherwise there are a ton of em.

    Step 1. Install Windows
    Step 2. Install Drivers
    Done

But there are drivers for like everything. The keyboard, gpu, cpu, touchpad, sound, plus more.
Mine came with a disk that had software to install them.

Finally got hold of the lap and im getting to know it now, thanks for all the help along the way @pat@XOTICPC and @Galm

i need some more help, i got hold of a 2.5 inch ssd ,adata sp550 and just about manage to fit that in the bay, now both are stacked together and i can feel a very slight bulge where my palm rests and its a bit warm too and i have scrwed in only the one on top (when you look from bottom), which is the HDD, im currently in the process of backing up my steam folder (its big and my friend installed everything in the same drive as windows, and i need to move it to another folder to clone windows)
SO my doubt is , will this be a problem, is there a better way to put it in the bay
