    Ordering
The shopping experience went really smooth. I am from California so I was initially hesitated about ordering from HIDevolution. I gave them a call and Donald@HIDevolution gave me exactly what I wanted. He kindly offered me advice on my setup and NBR member discount. He was able to accommodate all my requests so I placed an order with them right away. The price is still pretty competitive, especially considering the customer service I received from HIDevolution.

    Timeline
11/21/16 Ordered the laptop and payment cleared in the afternoon
11/22/16 Noticed a slight billing issue. Called Donald and sorted things out. Also changed from delivery to pick-up from their La Habra office.
    11/23/16 8:43AM Pre-Production
    11/23/16 2:31PM Ready for pick-up
11/23/16 ~6PM Picked up from their office.
As shown above, HIDevolution's team was so effective and I got the laptop the day before thanksgiving! Only 2 days after I placed my order!
11/29/16 Returned and exchange for a Razer Blade

    Issues
After picking the laptop up, I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 pro, the necessary drivers, and clevo control center software suite.
    1. Display
My biggest complaint about the laptop would be the 4k screen from samsung. It's probably a Pentile RGBW screen that makes reading small fonts impossible. I am also disappointed about its mustard yellow color.

Edit: Tried color calibration and will see how it works. Might replace the display with a sharp 4k panel if the issue persists.
    2. CCC
The control, especially keyboard lights, feels sluggish and sometimes doesn't work.
    3. Noise
The fan runs more aggressive than I would expect for light usage. Also that the fun would randomly rev up for a second or so then return to normal again. Not a big deal but still pretty annoying.

Edit: Following the suggestion in the owner's lounge, the fan noise issue seems to go away.
Update: It seems that the issue doesn't go away when using integrated graphics. The fan revs up pretty annoyingly under light load, e.g. watching youtube videos.

    4. BSOD
I run into the BSOD while gaming and it seems to be a vram related issue. I have tried a couple versions of nvidia driver and the issue doesn't seem to go away.

Update: This is the smoking gun. Couldn't get the problem sorted.
    5. Weight
I was fully aware of the weight of the laptop, but probably underestimate the size and weight of the power brick. After using it for a weekend, I begin to wonder if I really need all this power from the 1070. I guess there is really no good or bad here. I sacrifice a little bit of portability for performance and better thermals, and would probably regret had I chose other laptop over the p650rs.

Update: I noticed that my unit is running the 1.05.02 bios. Will try to update the bios and see if issues resolved.

    Wrap-up
I am still not sure if I want to keep this laptop or not. It has some issues for me but it is an excellent laptop for sure. I will probably give Donald a call and see what I can do about the graphic card issue. I know that there's a 10% or 15% restock fee if I were to return the laptop. I might consider an exchange if returning is not an option. Nonetheless, I will follow up in this thread.

    Exchange
During the time I use the P650RS, I spend most time watching youtube videos and checking facebook. The fan issue annoyed me so much and made me realize that this thing is built for enthusiast. I probably had ~ 3 hours of gaming on the laptop, and intermittent BSOD just stopped me from having a decent experience. I know that there is likely some software twerks to fix or help the issues, but that's probably not in my best interest.
I tried gaming on a colleague's Razer Blade. It did get hot and the fan was pretty loud. At that stage, the P650 seems like the better choice. But after serious consideration, I won't be gaming that much on the laptop. The P650RS is well-built, great value, and a very powerful gaming machine. But it takes too much effort to setup properly and isn't that strong when doing light tasks. So considering the fan issue, BSOD, display issue, and simply that it isn't a "working right out of the box" laptop, I decided to return it in exchange for a Razer Blade. It won't be as powerful, but should satisfy my needs better than the P650RS.

Well they don't usually have walk-in customers so they weren't expecting anyone. I went there the day before thanksgiving and about 30 minutes before they closed. It took me a while to find someone to get my laptop out, but after that it was a quick and smooth experience. However, the traffic is pretty bad as always. I wouldn't do a pick-up unless I am in a hurry.

the problem with the spinning fans is probably because of the latest Clevo Control Center that contains XTU

do you want me to hook up to you via TeamViewer and see if I can fix things for you?
