    Configuration includes an i7-7700k, GTX 1070, 16GB of HyperX Impact 2400 RAM, a 512GB Samsung 960 Pro SSD, and a 75Hz G-Sync display.

I decided to go with Obsidian (even though we have a Clevo reseller here in Romania) because they offer exactly what I need for this sort of machine: great performance with rock-solid cooling and amazing customer support.

Many thanks to John and Ricardo for putting up with my frequent and annoying questions.

Needless to say, I'm going to be waiting on the edge of my seat for the laptop to arrive.

Enjoy it, I bought the exact same laptop (without SSD) 2 weeks ago, very happy so far.

It's happening! My order was shipped out last night and I'm waiting on delivery.

I need to mention just how amazing the folks at Obsidian have been: they switched me to express shipping so that I can get my laptop before I have to leave on work assignment.

Once again, big thank you to @John@OBSIDIAN-PC and his team!

P.S.: I hope Ricardo is feeling better.

I admit that this is a bit overdue, but I still think it's worth saying.

I've had this laptop for several months now, and I'm so happy with the work Obsidian-PC put into it. Under normal gaming loads (e.g. Dirt Rally at 1080p 8xMSAA, graphics options set to maximum) the delidded CPU stays below 75C, and the GPU around 70 (usually below that). The 75Hz G-Sync display is awesome, though some not-so-stellar ports have given me a bit of grief before they agree to run properly, even at 60Hz (looking at you, Dark Souls). If there's one thing I believe needs improving, it's the heat dissipation on the M.2 SSD. The 960 Pro I have runs quite hot, going into the 70s and sometimes low 80s C, under very heavy loads. I hope to significantly lower this by installing a heatsink, and by modding a cooling pad to improve airflow.

As far as Obsidian-PC's customer service goes, I have nothing but praise to offer. The Obsidian Tool makes driver updates ridiculously easy, and the ThrottleStop configuration that they provide is a great base for tweaking and adjusting system performance as needed. Apart from that, even though there was a slight issue with the configuration on my order and I decided to send the laptop back to them, they fixed the problem and sent the laptop back to me without further delay. This was a significant purchase for me, and I'm glad I chose to do business with them.
