    Here goes nothing...

It has been much better than expected, so I decided to make a quick post. This thread will be updated regularly when my PC arrives, and kept updated throughout the first few weeks, as the odds are against me considering past experiences. The "too long, didn't/don't read" version will be beneath the spoiler. ;)

Let's start from a month ago (March 2015), when I first started searching for a laptop...

It has been nearly six months (in March) without a computer at home to do anything from gaming to making excel spreadsheets and programming. At this point, I was about to go crazy... I had sold my previous Alienware computer because of the new direction Alienware has taken, for which I do not support. If there were something to go wrong with my system, having four years of warranty meant nothing now because their systems are literally soldered from top to bottom with subtracted features. I literally dropped everything and ran. This is when I came across Clevo/Sager. Even though the build quality (chassis) is not as "good" as Alienware, the performance and user-upgradeability factor was off the charts in comparison. I couldn't deny the fact that they now offered better options...especially considering the ratio of performance : dollar.

Given the most horrible purchasing experience I've experienced, yet, with Alienware, I've officially decided to just move away and stop giving them the benefit of the doubt, because they simply do not deserve such loyalty anymore. You can read my response to their action here, and more about the bad experience here. Honestly, it's quite a shame... Being lied to for days on end, and then continuously lied to while having Policy shoved in your face is absolutely unacceptable.

XoticPC has always been on the top of my list of resellers to order from. They're U.S. based. They do not outsource support. They do not charge obscene prices for laptops or components. They offer great support (from what I've seen and experienced thus far), and are actively helping members among this community, which is a huge plus in my book. So, I decided to give them a chance... They were very helpful every step of the way, responding to every email within hours - even on the weekend - and keeping me updated along the way. They even altered my order AFTER it was processed with a "Rush Service" that I decided would benefit me greatly, and it was worth it. My order was placed on April 25th (a Saturday), and processed on April 27th, having gone into Phase 1 that same day which includes Inventory Gathering of your components. Two days later, on April 29th, it had been built and shipped. The entire process went flawlessly. The "Rush Order Service" is worth every penny!

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my computer. Standard shipping was free, otherwise I'd have my PC tomorrow. But hey, I didn't feel like spending $100+ on shipping. I can wait 3 days... I'll update this once it arrives.

    TL;DR:

Portability was key, so 15.6" was probably the largest size laptop I wanted. The Sager NP9752 stood out, particiularly because it offered an insane "performance : dollar" ratio compared to most other laptops in the same form factor... XoticPC was very helpful, responding to every email within hours, and keeping me updated along the way. Two days later, on April 29th, it had been built and shipped. Today is April 30th and my system is only a couple days away.

The purchasing process has gone by so smoothly, I am honestly impressed.

    Thank you, XoticPC!

P.S. Yes, I am aware LGA 1150 is being replaced with LGA 1151 by the end of this year. But does that matter? Not really. Mobile gaming is not CPU-dependent. My situation is a bit different, and waiting another 5-7 months for something slightly better isn't worth suffering without a PC. (And spending $500-$900 on a "cheap" laptop is pointless... Tech enthusiasts know what I mean.) 2016 is going to change the game. I'm aware of that fact. But I'm also not a fan of BGA/soldered components, so I wanted to know what it was like to own something of true value before it is potentially lost forever.

No problem. XoticPC has proven to be better than I could have ever anticipated.

The laptop is due for delivery tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's finals week, so I won't be able to use it much. Might install Windows and run some benchmarks, and start downloading games.
