Are there any besides Eurocom? They seem ok, but a little more expensive. HIDEvolution has great reviews, but an extra $400 in tax is miserable and could go to something else ...
thanks

Have a relative or friend from out of state buy it and ship it to you? Shipping should be less than $400

Yes, that is definitely plan B. Was just doing a quick check for something simpler.

I'm a big fan of Eurocom, they are only 4 hours away from me so it means next day shipping for me for only like $20. They have always been good to me.

Mythlogic. They have by far the best prices I've seen, especially if you plan to go -CPU/memory, but their turnaround/service times tend to be quite lengthy from what I've seen.

That's another thing I like about Eurocom, I've ordered a laptop, then 2 days later I literally have it in my house. It's impressive how fast they are, at least from what I have seen.bloodhawk likes this. -
Yeah, same with HIDEvolution and Xotic PC, my system was ready in a week and delivered from HIDE, and my friends same system from XOTIC PC was delivered within 5 days. (Though @pat@XOTICPC might have had something to do with that

Bear in mind that with the launch of new hardware, there will likely be an upswing in demand that could cause builds to take a bit longer. HID quoted me 5-10 business days until shipment but I'm not going to be surprised if it's more than that.

Could be, but they are more than HID *with* the 9.5% tax for the same build ... I think my in-laws will be helping me out. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I would also love to buy from HIDEvolution but I'm in CA and that sales tax kills me. Not to mention Eurocom offered 10% off for student discount as well.

Ah, good to know. The Microsoft store gives that 10% discount even if you're a parent of a student. Wonder if I can convince Eurocom to do the same
I'll have to ask them about it.

Guys we really need to support all of these that make laptops better and drive innovation. We are pushing all notebook vendors for many years for open/unlocked BIOS. This would force them to make better laptops for all of us as O/C support needs better quality componets. Their argument is always "customers want cheap crap". So let's prove them that the are wrong.

If that's coming from Clevo, then they better drop their prices because their notebooks are far from what I would call "cheap."TomJGX likes this.
