This is a review of my experience I had with Obsidian-PC.
    Final verdict: awesome

    I ordered a 15'' P650HS-G, with the following specs.

    P650HS-G GTX 1070 8GB i7-7820HK
    32GB (2x16GB) CORSAIR Vengeance 2400
    500GB SAMSUNG 960 EVO
    525GB CRUCIAL MX300
    Intel Wifi AC8265 & BT4.2

My display is 1920x1080 15.6'' G-Sync 60Hz IPS panel (not 75Hz as I wrote initially). This system was not available in 120Hz IPS and I really needed IPS for greater viewing angles.

I had initially ordered an i7-7700HQ but I changed my mind (it's a bit more complicated than that but I won't bother you with the details) and requested an i7-7820HK. The Obsidian team was super nice about it, put my order on hold for a while (the i7-7820HK was not readily available) and promptly build my system when the new CPU was back in stock.

Communication was easy and friendly, in fluent English, without jargon. Our conversations were had by mail, by online chat or by the support ticket system on the Obsidian website.

The system was delivered from Portugal to Greece by TNT. I asked my father to pick it up as I was out and he signed it off as "delivered in excellent condition" even though the packaging was quite seriously damaged on one corner (the box was smashed in and a hole had opened as a result). Needless to say, my hands were shacking when I opened it, half expecting the laptop to be shattered. Well, no: inside this outer box (which absorbed all the shock) Obsidian had put another box, with empty space between the two. And inside that box, yet another one! And inside that third box, the laptop was sitting, in pristine condition. Great packaging!

I've been working too much lately and haven't had time to seriously test my system. However, I am amazed at the design (sleek and powerful without over the top extravaganza), at the construction (aluminum body), at the GPU power (I rendered a scene with DAZ NVidia and it was ridiculously fast compared with my previous GTX-540M) and at the temperature/noise levels. Maybe that's because I'm upgrading from a really old Clevo :) . Anyway, I just love the Obsidian Drivers Update utility too, it makes keeping my system up-to-date much simpler and, more importantly, safer.

All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase through Obsidian and I would recommend them for people ordering from Europe.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Our warehouse guy really goes nuts when it comes to packaging. Sometimes i get phone calls from clients who are afraid to open the box because it looks too big or too weird to be a laptop...

I just noticed something in your post: 75Hz IPS panel, that´s impossible, there´s only 60hz IPS on the P650, i hope there was no error on our communication.

    Hi John,

No, it's not an error on your part, the panel is 60Hz actually, I was just testing you to see if you would see this post and catch the error... just kidding.

Nope, just a brainfart on my part. The panel is not 120Hz so I just wrote 75Hz without bothering to look up its actual refresh rate as I was mostly interested in it being an IPS. Sorry :D

    Will edit the OP.
