Purchasing a Custom built Sager 9870 S from XoticPc

Well after many months of researching gaming laptops and resellers, I finally pulled the trigger and chose the Sager 9870 S and XoticPc . Based my decision on the good experiences other people have had with this reseller. I found the customization section very easy to follow and placed the order quite uneventfully. Upon reviewing it I did spot an error that I made on the memory configuration. Wanted 2 by 16GB chips (allowing me future expansion to 64GB) but accidentally ordered 4 by 8GB. Thought this to be a good opportunity to see how responsive their customer service would be in rectifying the error. Telephone call was a disappointment. On music hold for over 12 min (to their sales department). Hung up and tried email. Almost immediately received a response from Tyler who assured me that the change could be made with a small difference in price. Very impressed! Mission accomplished in less time than I was kept on telephone hold.

Xotic estimates the custom build to take about 7 to 12 business days. They then ship free by ground carrier. I am keeping my fingers crossed as I am leaving for an extended trip to Hawaii in a little under 4 weeks. I will look forward to their email status reports and hope the build stays on track. I am now in Phase 2 [Sager Assembly, Build, Technical Analysis, Stress Testing & QA]. So far so good.

As a followup to my post, I received the laptop today Friday Mar. 11. Placed the order on Mar 4th and was prepared to wait at least 2 weeks. I could not be more impressed with how I was treated by this company and it's employees. They went way out of their way to accomodate me at every turn. Very responsive and with excellent communication on all levels. I was made to feel as if I were a VIP and their best customer even though this is my very first order. I tend to upgrade my laptops often and there is no question that I will be a repeat customer.

The lapptop itself was delivered exactly as I ordered it and works beautifully. I have only had a chance to unbox, install a couple of 2 TB SSDs (which I owned already) and am all set to put this beast through it's paces. I tend to be very picky and usuallly have a long list of perceived shortcomings. Not the case this time. The laptop arrived in pristine condition, solidly built, lighter and quieter than I expected........ at least when browsing or during non intensive processing. Very happy with my purchase and the uneventfull, pleasant experience in the process of purchasing it from XOTICPC..
