Xotic PC - No Returning Customer Discount? - Concerned

I just ordered my new laptop from Xotic PC. I was told that the discount could not be discussed or applied until I had submitted my order and it had been reviewed. That seems a little backwards to me--how do I know I accept a price until I know the final price? But I trusted the adviser and submitted, asking for an update about the RCD. I never received an update. I also asked a different adviser that took over two times and while she was quick to change a RAM option for me, conveniently ignored my questions concerning the RCD. Now I have a pending charge on my credit card for the amount of my order, which does not include any discount, and I have been informed by e-mail that my payment has been processed and I have moved into Phase 1.

Is this the normal procedure? Am I going to be charged the full amount but then refunded a portion later as a discount? I'm not getting any answers from Xotic PC and am on the verge of placing a hold on the charge until I can get this explained to me.

 

I can look into this for you. Normally we do need to have an order placed so we can see the final configuration and apply the discount accordingly. Some items have slightly more margin then others which allow for larger discounts. Your sales advisor should have gave you a rough idea of what to expect.

Thanks for the reply, Hutsady. Ava S actually gave me a call last night to explain and apologize for the mixup. She said she would reverse the first charge, apply the returning customer discount, and then push the new charge through. Awesome!
