    Hello,

Im about to order a sager laptop in the following weeks. Basically im ordering my laptop without an OS. And something im being worried about is how would they test the laptop without an OS. Even when some people order with an OS some problems still arises which worries me more. Im from Peru and i'd hate to ship back and waste more money on a laptop because the company did not properly test it before shipping it.

So, do resellers/builders still test a laptop without an OS?
EDIT. If i request an RMA, do I have to pay for the shipping back?

    Thanks in advance.

No doubt this is true of all builders and or resellers here, your machine is thoroughly tested with Windows 7 or 8 along with the latest drivers for your machine whether you order an operating system or not.

If it is a Sager branded order, the production teem has hard drives for your model already loaded with windows and the drivers to do the testing. No order is shipped without this testing.

With Sager, if you are outside the US and Canada you would be responsible for shipping to and from the repair depot. Just check with your dealer for specifics. :)

Thanks for the answer Larry. I didn't think about a preloaded OS in a hard drive! :D

Alright, as for LPC, if im requiered to send back the laptop for repair, I pay the shipping back aswell?

    Thanks!

    Hey,

Yea of course even if you get it with no os we put it through our entire testing suite (hit our website for more details), and we include the results of the benchmarking and testing and screen calibration on a CDROM with your order.

    thanks

Yes if you are outside the US or Canada then the shipping is the customers responsibility. Sorry.

I do believe that for most ALL sellers in the USA this would be the case. However, you might check with other dealers. Sorry I could not help more. :(

I am currently going through the experience you are afraid of, namely i'm far from usa, ordered sager laptop but the nvidia 675m card is not working.

I also ordered it without OS so it seems more likely that it wasn't properly tested, especially since 675m was a free upgrade from 670m till 15 days ago but now it is not offered at all, probably clearing the stock.

Even without an OS configured onto the machine it's still tested. As Larry and Mythlogic stated, we all have ways of testing the machines out despite not having that OS on there. It does none of us any good to send out a laptop that doesn't work and so we make every effort to make it's 100% ready to go when it arrives to you.

As for warranty and shipping, if it's Sager branded it's Sagers warranty policies. Within the US, the shipping is covered for your warranty. For Canadian customers the Canadian coverage can be purchased to cover shipping as well. For other countries though, the policies state that the shipping will not be covered. This is true of Sager resellers, Builders would adhere to their own policies regarding this.
