Hey there folks . I am currently looking to get a new 8800SLI capable notebook . Odds are i might get a sager . The only issue that worries me is how HOT does a 9261 run . It has desktop CPU/RAM ( correct me if i am wrong ) .
What are temps when under a full load ( games for the most part ) , gaming , idle , regular use ( IE , documents , pictures , video ) .
Also C2D vs C2Q , which is hotter ( id say 4 cores is hotter than 2 cores ) .
Thanks in advance for replies .

It actually runs cooler than most laptops. I just enable the max fan feature when gaming or run intense applications and mine stays around 45C with auto fans same apps it will get to 60C. The max fan is not loud at all really. Barley notice it in a normal room.

What about automatic fan control when under a full load ? I dont think i would want to force fans to max when playing/working on it .
My prev e1705 ran pretty cool most of the time , but when loaded temps were around 65C CPU , 75C - 80C GPU , no overclocking . The inside was prerfectly clean ( no dust ) .

You don't have to force full fans. With 100% CPU load and no max fans the hottest my system got was 55C. With Max fans and 100% load it was 41C. It's one of the coolest running systems there is.

Nope the Pentium 4's were very hot. I had a friend that had one of those Clevo models. Part of his exhaust system was melted. They were VERY hot running chips. It was one of the 1st things I checked when I got my system. I could not believe how quiet and how cool it was, litteraly.

I use speedfan also. I'll have to look up where I posted my temps I think it was in the owners forum. brb

Heres what I get with speedfan with my 2.93Ghz

ACPI Thermal Zone: 36C (Fans on Full (Fn+1) / Normal Load - Web Browsing etc)
    Core0: 24C
    Core1: 24C

ACPI Thermal Zone: 53C (Fans on Full (Fn+1) / FULL 100% CPU usage load for 5 min (Running W-Prime)
    Core0: 52C
    Core1: 52C

ACPI Thermal Zone: 50C (Fans on Auto / Normal Load - Web Browsing etc)
    Core0: 40C
    Core1: 39C

ACPI Thermal Zone: 61C (Fans on Auto / FULL 100% CPU usage load for 5 min (Running W-Prime)
    Core0: 58C
    Core1: 59C

No notebook cooler, just fans on max. Not bad I'd say. With my notebook cooler underneath I'd probably get a few degree's less.

So your right 61C with auto fans and running the CPU at 100% for 5 minutes. Still not bad at all with no other form of cooling.

Did you change what Speedfan reads???

I adjusted mine to what Everest was reading...

I think it was at +7

So if speedfan is running at default 34, I added 7... = 41

Thats how I got my temp readings...

    I think i actually hit the 70's...

Ill have to check.. as I haven't really tested totally....

I just use speedfan man. Those numbers are from about a month after I got my notebook, so 4-5 months ago. Just use them to compare to your speedfan #'s and that should be good enough. I don't personally know which is more accurate of the temp.

I was looking this up and speedfan reads the quad core cpu load low. I just adjusted the offset buy the difference.
