you are not mistaken on the title.

Since the nVidia Geforce 7950 Go GTX (512mb DDR3) is about to be released. Sager models 5760 and 9750 are already taking orders for this top of the line notebook GPU.

I have been searching for the best deals, and it turns out most OEMs (Sager, XoticPC, PowerNotebooks, etc...) have the upgrade from 7900 GTX to 7950 GTX for the said models is about $100.

I just recently found the same configs through HyperSonic.

    Sager 5760 = HyperSonic Aviator CX7

    Sager 9750 = HyperSonic Aviator FX7

They actually have the upgrade for only $27

The prices of the entirely configured notebooks, actually are appealing as well, and competitive to other OEMs.

Check it out for yourself. But its seems that this OEM has got the best deal for this particular upgrade for the moment.

Sure makes me jealous of you Americans, we can't even get the 7950, and when we can, it'll likely be a $200 upgrade.

Try this Australia OEM for the notebooks, the prices are decent.

You can still buy this notebook through any of the Sager resellers by International Orders. Shipping is like $40 on average.

You should PM Paladin44 from Powernotebooks, he would probably know about special orders.

    for $3883 ?!?

maybe they are just that good?.... (sarcasm meter off the scale)

come now, we all know that its not worth it, might as well get (3) 37-40" LCD 1080p and have an extra $883 to spare. :D

Hehe, your name doesn't sounds Australian at all lol. Aren't you not from Qc or France? Though I'm not even sure this first name is vastly used in France :).

    Just Curious :)

for some reason hypersonic's customization doesn't start with the minimum specs...

when i lowered all the specs, the base price is in the same range as pc torque/pnotebooks/sagernotebooks

so it seems like a good deal, except for the fact that you can OC the 7900gtx and get the same preformance, but no one knows how much you can o/c the 7950gtx, but $27 upgrade for any part is a good deal

I looked at the same configs for the Sager 5760 and the Aviator CX7. Hypersonic seemed to have competitive prices compared to Powernotebooks and Sager... like $100-150 cheaper.

But the upgrade for the nvidia 7950 GTX makes it even sweeter.

    Oh ya that things brilliant.

As in, 3 lcds glued together.

And its advantage over 3 seperate lcds is? lol thats one of the more ridiculous things Ive ever seen.

Its the sort of thing someone would buy BECAUSE its a rip off. Be one of the few to have the 3 headed monitor....

So anyone has any news on the 7950GTX upgrade for the Sagers, for those with the preexisting 7800GTX or the 7900GTX ?

I called Sager to check on pricing for the 7900->7950 upgrade. If you are within 30 days of the purchase date the cost is $280. If you are OUTSIDE of the 30 day limit the cost is $850!!! I think ill just be happy with my 7900GTX as i am am 8 days outside of my 30 day window.

yea, you dont really need to pay that much for a 8-10% performance increase.

Hypersonic is now making the 7950 GTX the default choice, so this thread is not too important anymore.

Hypersonic still has slightly better pricing for the Clevo M570U than Powernotebooks... approx $100-200

I noticed hypersonic didn't offer the t7200, while powernotebooks does. The 4mb cash on the t7200 offers a great price/performance ratio. So if you get the t7200 at powernotebooks and the t7400 at hypersonic (configuring same specs with other the components, you must get the lower end hdds, since powernotebooks charges quite a bit for them) the price difference between them is $10-$50, still in hypersonic's favor (assuming you use the cash discount for power notebooks). Although i'm not sure if hypersonic has any discounts. Then again, you can get no ram or hdd on the hypersonic and save even more money buying your own, or using your old components.

I know there are a lot of varibles with that, but powernotebooks can offer competitive prices with their spectacular support.

    One word: INSANE.

Its not a DX10 GPU even. I think i'll channel that money into another project. Thats just nutz...you can buy a gawd **** notebook for that money.

The support was the difference for me, I was going to go with Hypersonic but decided against it due to some of the negs I had read about their support. It wasn't worth the savings to me.

I should have my Sager 5760 soon, with the 7950 :)

Cool, good choice, tell us when you get it.

Maybe you can get a digital cam and take some snaps of it for us and give us some impressions of it.
