    Hello,

Unfortunately my graphics card is broken and beyond fixing ;(

    I now plan to :

    - Buy a new card for my GPU
    - Buy a new workstation pc ( for work in October ) * Untill then my current notebook is my only pc *

Duo the fact that I use my notebook for:

    - World of Warcraft
    - Programming ( Visual Studio )
    - Photo/Video editing ( Adobe Suite )

I'm not 100% sure whether it's worth to upgrade to:

    - AMD 7970M at €330,-
    - AMD 6990M at €280,-
    - AMD 6970M at €190,-
    - NVIDIA ?

Also I'm not sure whether I'm able to buy the DELL Cards or if i need Clevo ones, I can see multiple Dells on ebay but I'm not 100% sure whether they are compatible.

    Any suggestion is welcome :

    - Which to buy
    - What %'s of performance difference between the cards
    - U are selling one ; )
    - Something else...

If you've gotten good performance with your previous 6970M that died on you then you'll be all set. It should hold you over until its time to replace the whole notebook.

Also, Dell cards don't have a particularly good record of working in Clevo machines, although sometimes it has been reported as working with a vBIOS mod. Hopefully that card you got works out for you. :)

Just the colour of the finish to the PCB they use.

Whole process took me 3 hours... cuz i froze the fans with the compressed air... lost a screw..... well in the end I fired it up.

Temps are lower then previous card, no langer have BSODS and all seems good.

Didn't have to flash the GPU, not sure if there's any downside yet.

The only issue if a card is working would be something like the HDMI audio not being outputted, otherwise you should be good to go.

Aye, keep an eye out for any idiosyncrasies. Glad to hear it's working for you, though!

Hmm, will hook it up tomorrow morning to test.

Yeah me too, I've been applying workarounds and fixes for my half broken card for over a year now.

The pc would crash the moment it switches back fromm 680/900 to 100/150 or any lower clock... so had to force it to max always ; (
