I was wondering how Vista SP1 changed the install/experience for you guys. Here's mine:

    • Vista started to take longer to load up
    • System saw 4.00GB RAM, whereas the chipset only sees upto 3071MB
    • Copying seems sort of fixed - occasionally slow. Still not as fast as XP though.
    • Overall felt a tad more solid.

well, also... does it recognise 4gb... or does it efficentally use it? cause if it doesnt use it efficentally, it s useless

lol, click on the part that says "4.00GB RAM" lol. It links to a screen shot. But task manager shows 3069, so I don't think it efficiently uses it. It felt weird, that's all.

I am using the SP1 RC on a Sager NP9261/ Clevo D901C, but the 64 bit edition.... It runs quite a bit faster during normal tasks.. Memory seems to be more efficient...

Sorry to jump on the thread... But I have had it installed since it came out from the beta team...

Sp1 did improve performance and especially copying large files and all, but removed for some reason my optical drive from My Computer

I don't know if it's SP1, but I've had a lot of network instability at my friend's place. No probs at home though.

I also noticed that it puts a small "note" on the bottom right corner that says "Windows Vista(TM), Evaluation Copy, Build 6001". Evaluation Copy? =O

What do you mean? How do you put it in your computer or are you going to check if it's working on your computer?

I have an HP 6710b laptop running Vista 64 bit with 4GB RAM. I applied the SP1 RC1 and now the HP Credential Manager with fingerprint scanner no longer works. I d/l'ed the install from HP and re-installed but it still will not work. The fingerprint scanner is now useless.

A few days later, I started noticing that full boot takes a bit more than usual. But copying still is faster, thank God.
Don`t care if it takes 2 mins to bootup, if performance is better after that :)
