I'm having problems finding a driver (have used the latest found here in the drivers thread) that works under Windows Server 2008 R2.

Can anyone help with a driver for the Realtek RTL8188CE.

The problem seems to be it doesn't find any connections, the device appears to be on (the light for the wireless is on) but the fn+F11 doesn't turn it off under Win Server 2008.

Not sure if it's related but the Hotkey app doesn't start up it reports "System needs to be restarted again. Make sure all driver is install." Also the web cam software also reports a problem when connecting to the camera (driver is installed tho).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and everything works perfectly under Win 7 so it's not hardware. Both OS's are x64 also.

The drivers probably aren't supported. Server 2008 R2 uses the same kernel as Windows 7, but many of the drivers aren't the same. I'm actually surprised that you got that many of the drivers to run otherwise. Unless those drivers work in compatibility mode, you're probably out of luck. Also note that most AntiVirus programs also won't work either (or they will, but require a paid version for a server OS)

The wireless driver works fine I am assuming you probably dont have the wireless lan feature installed.

Thank you so much it works once I installed that.

Now if the Hotkey ap would work that would help but it's not essential.

An update, all my problems have been solved.

Not sure which of the following fixed the hotkey ap but after following ashman56 for the wireless lan and installing .net 3.5 feature and windows experience it now runs perfectly.

Glad I don't have a need for windows 7 now.
