Nobody talks about it but most of the people care about how their notebook looks. I'm wondering which of the latest models of Clevo that can use Nvidia 880m look best? And to be more precise because looks can vary depending on one's taste I'm talking in comparison of the gaming models of Alienware, Asus ROG series, MSI Gt70 series etc...

I'm quite a fan of the 'sleeper' look Clevo's have. They don't need to be flashy to have great functionality. I do like ASUS's style though, especially if they use the brushed aluminum (something Clevo could use more of IMO). I personally don't think Alienwares look that good and it's over the top. MSI has definitely improved their look lately. Although I think looks are important, price and functionality is really what it boils down to me. None of these laptops have looks good/bad enough to have much of an influence on my decision.

Looks are entirely subjective so you need to decide for yourself.

I'm just sad that the P370SM design is being discontinued. Nothing beats a dull, black, and boxy laptop that doesn't catch anyone's attention yet is insanely powerful and utterly satisfying to use. The P375SM is just gaudy; clearly they were trying to imitate Alienware but got the flashiness entirely wrong, and the end product is something that just looks cartoonish.

The new P377SM-A is definitely more subtle thanks to removal of the ridiculous trackpad logo and the lightbar, but still not quite digging those red LED lights.

My favourite is the w230st / w230ss. I think they got everything right in terms of design with that.

I agree on that. I was saddened to find the P370SM was discontinued after the refresh. I opted for the P170SM-A instead. I use my laptop for work. I can't walk into a customer site toting something blingtastic.

I have to say though, bling when done properly, can be very attractive and tasteful. I think Alienware really nailed the bling design on their laptops, and I still consider them to be the best looking bling laptops on the market. I especially like the new design of the AW18, and I actually think it would just barely squeak by in a professional setting if the people you're working with aren't too conservative. It still wouldn't be my preferred laptop, but at least I don't think I'd die of embarrassment if I had to pull it out in front of people.

Now the P375SM, it's just... gaudy, yeah there's no other way to describe it. Clevo simply tried too hard on that one, and it really shows.

I'm personally fond of the W355SS. It feels solid, has some minor aesthetic value but is not egregious or gaudy, and it's a good size and weight. It's not as powerful as its P series family, but it's a nice little unit.

Still, as was already mentioned, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. :)

I know the notebook looks is more of a matter of taste but I think we can all tell when we see something nice. Just like with women. My personal taste is brunettes but if I see a beautiful blond woman I can tell she is beautiful regardless if she is not my type.

Back to our subject now I used to own an Asus ROG notebook and I really liked that stealth rubber no fingerprint look. I recently got an itx case from Bitfenix the phenom mini-itx which has similar material and I love it. It seems futuristic but also serious enough. That's what I'm looking for at a notebook.

The W355SS to me, then, is like a woman that's not as attractive - by conventional standards - as her more successful and glamorous siblings, and yet has an appeal all her own; sort of like Cinderella, if Cinderella's older stepsisters were charming at all. :p

The W355SS to you might be that blonde woman - or maybe a red head. I don't know. The Asus ROG series definitely has appealing aesthetics though. :)
