Hi, I currently own a Sager NP7378 / Clevo W370SS with 8GB RAM and a DVD drive. I was wondering if there is any trusty places from where I can order an extra 8GB RAM stick as well as a HDD caddy to replace my DVD drive?

I'm living in Canada btw, but won't mind ordering stuff from the States.

    Thanks in advance.

Since you live in Canada, I'd suggest Eurocom. I have ordered from them several times and they have incredibly fast shipping. They would almost definitely have an HDD caddy and 8GB RAM stick - they have an insane stock of things, even old parts and even old Clevo laptops.

Great, I didn't know they would sell the parts individually. Thanks for the info!!

it can surely never hurt to ask :) although i would also definitely check ebay for ODD caddys, vendors such as eurocom are known to sell parts with a juicy premium (naturally). as for the RAM, u can basically order wherever u find something, thus ebay, best buy, microcenter, etc. just make sure u get the right kind (SODIMM, DDR2/3/4) and speed ure looking for. doesnt make sense to go for faster ram than what is already installed in ur system, since it will adjust the clocks to the slowest common denominator. so best case would be to go with a stick of the same speed as the one uve already installed.

    good luck! :)

I'd probably just get it all on amazon or newegg, they should have everything you need between those two :)

Actually, for Clevo laptops, I would highly suggest a Clevo reseller instead since they are more likely to have Clevo parts than Amazon or Newegg.

concerning ram and odd caddys, theres no need to specifically go for "clevo parts" since theyre basically universal parts anyways ^^ not like with fans keyboard, heatsinks or such...

I bought this item from NewEgg in August for my P170HM. When I was researching, the only things that I had to consider were connection type and the caddy size (height). I just looked up my model's specs to confirm that the optical bay was 12.7mm in height. I popped out the existing drive to confirm that it was SATA. New drive in the caddy works perfectly. The only complaint I have is cosmetic; the original optical drive had sort of a face plate that contoured to the shape of the chassis while the face on the caddy is flat and recessed. However, I bet I could easily move the face plate onto the caddy.

You can actually pry the faceplate off the caddy linked above (which is also what all the cheap ebay ones are too), and the faceplate off your ODD and clip it onto the caddy so you can't even tell its not stock.
Its just clips holding them on and they are easy enough to remove (although when I did mine one broke off inside my caddy and rattles now :()

Pretty easy to remove yes, but definitely fragile. :vbmad:

They need a weird mixure of needing force and not needing force to remove.

I may or may not have broken a clip here and there in the past (as well as I may or may not have had to shamefully source another faceplate altogether). No worries. :vbwink:

A plastic spudger can be useful, screw drivers tend to damage the plastic.
