    Hi,
I'm using a clevo p170sm-a. My problem is that whenever I try to play a game, I get blue screen of '' driver irql not less or equal - nvlddmkm.sys'' After restarting my computer I can't use my nvidia gpu because windows doesn't recognize the nvidia gpu. It says '' Code 43 error windows has stopped this device'' . I can get to windows to recognize my gpu by disabling and re-enabling it however this thing still happens every time I boot up a game. So I just can't play any game. My 980m is useless.
    What I have tried :
    -to use older nvidia driver
    -to use windows 7
    -reflashing vbios and bios

None of them worked so far. I think it's hardware related but I'm not sure if my gpu is dead. Can you help me ?

    My specs:
    clevo p170sm-a
    nvidia gtx 980m
    i7 4710mq
    16 gb ram

No.. I don't have any other gpu but the thing is I can get to play a game a few minutes before it crashes. Do you think it's really dead ?

If you can get it to play a few minutes, then it might be an overheating issue. Otherwise it doesn't look good for your card.

Since it's a almost 4-year-old laptop..Sad thing is I can't afford any computer right now. I may give it to local laptop repair shop and see if they can fix it.

Dead chip - in Poland, the cost of replacing GPU chip on the MXM card is around 140 eur. This card is still worth it. Maybe you will be able to find professional repairing center that will be able to do it properly.

I have some great news ! It seems there was one screw which got loose on my gpu. All I had to do was tighten it a little bit. Now it works great, I don't see any artifacts or anything like so I think my gpu isn't dead.
