Clevo's site just has the driver but without the software, its useless unless someone has the driver that has the Windows Biometric Framework in it (the driver exists, its just that Egistec took it down). I lost my 8.1 driver disc that had it...

    Okay, I fixed it myself.

Get the driver from Acer - TravelMate P446-M - then take the Windows 7 driver disc and install Bioexcess from the Others/Finger/programfiles folder. Works perfectly. Now I can be lazy and not type my Windows password anymore.

Unfortunately Windows 8.1 doesn't just let you swipe... you have to wait a few seconds before the "sign in options" appears, then you can click that and change from password to biometric... it actually takes me longer to log in (info type 75 AWPM on a bad day). Still though, I found the fix for something that was driving me nuts so there's that!

afaik u dont manually need to change the login option though, it will recognize ur intent automatically if u just swipe ur finger, even if it shows u the text field for password input :)

Unfortunately it doesn't. Most likely because Windows has to actually load up the driver in the background since it doesn't use the Windows Biometric Framework. And BioExcess is terrible for anything else. I hate that software. But yes if I'm feeling really lazy I can tap twice, wait about 5 seconds, hit sign in options, then hit the option for fingerprint. Yes, it really is that bad. Even on my drunkest night I can still type faster than all of that.

I tried using the WBF drivers and it didn't install BioExcess, the control panel showed that it was there under device manager but the biometric setup tool wasn't in control panel and swiping a finger caused the hard drive to flicker three times, every time, but nothing came up.
